Weird how I saw the IASCA IDBL world record holding Phoenix Gold Honda CRX in my home town in Canada like 16 years ago and it was hitting 173 DB and now the record is only 180, I guess thats just the max you can do? It's like a speed record, every DB requires 5000 more watts worth of subs or something?
@OldSchoolCarAudio5 жыл бұрын
Years ago the microphones were not the transducer type so a lot of the readings were higher and perhaps considered "less accurate". But you are right, it's an exponential relationship... at some point the effort to increase by several dB requires double the power. Like building a drag car for a 6 sec quarter mile..compared to a 9 sec quarter mile.

The consequences of low frequency SPL & vibration on the human body has been well documented over the last 4 to 5 decades. It is absolutely irresponsible to claim that low frequency vibrations do not impact the human body. See our blog on this here: oldschoolcaraudio.com.au/pump-up-the-bass/

You would think a Tesla or Leaf would be the show cars used. Electric cars already have the wiring for more wiring and amps- right?
@Z-Ack5 жыл бұрын
The amount of cable that is in an average spl show car would be around 300 feet of 1 gauge cable. From hood to amps alone in a running car would be like 200 feet.. the sealed cars built for burps usually only have rear mounted power houses so would be less footage but they use 0 or 00 gauge.. battery wise if you unhooked the motors and gutted an electric car you would definately have those batteries built in but they all rely on brake charging so would be a feat to keep those batteries protected and change charging systems as they are usually sealed and all the safety gizmos are up inside and if youve ever taken apart a small lithium battery than imagine one oops of a split second short will set off a self destruct sequence.. with 25k$ invested in an audio system its not the best of insurance to build it based off of engineered explosive batteries designed for a different application that consumes faaaar less amp draw per second than an amp pushing 19,000 watts to make a speaker burp 177 fuggn db’s... :)
