I love your eccentric videos. I first came across your channel and was very attracted to some of the profiles of artists, writers, and other weirdos, some who came to sad ends and some like Rosaleen who seemed to end quite happily with her cats. For my taste, I prefer them to the gruesome murder stories, but I know those have their audiences. After watching The Witch of Kings Cross film earlier this year, I was motivated to search out a reasonably priced paperback copy of The art of Rosaleen Norton (with poems by Gavin Greenlees) The Teitan press 2022. I was so pleased to add her to my bookshelf!

I was very take n with Rosaleen's description od childhood because I felt much the same. The biggest difference was that I certainly didn't have a "sullen face while resting" - on the contrary, I was always being accused of smiling at inapppropriate times, even though it was unintentional! It can be disquieting to some - those who go through life thinking that demons and devilish creatures look like the furry/scaly depictions from the Middle Ages - to look upon Rosaleen’s work and realize that she painted from REAL LIFE. Suddenly, those insectoid invertebrates take on a ghastly new reality. Hers is the closest approximation to Lovecrat’s story “Pickman’s Model.” She was many things, but easily frightened does not come to mind!
