I have just noticed in the women's gaunlet before the gladiators are introduced Teresa is lined upto run then after the gladiators are introduced Alison is lined up and goes first

Make sense since after alisons run the gladiators start to take their gear off after as if they had ran both already. Just switched for editing for what ever reason

I feel bad for Hammer-it’s got to hurt his pride to have two bad events in a row. But he also did three of the four events, and that’s asking a lot of any gladiator.

I am not sure what language this is in but if I understand it correctly it is wrong. UK Gladiators was first aired in 1992 so came first. Australian Gladiators was therefore inspired by the UK Gladiators.

I thought it was 25 seconds to complete the gauntlet? With the first mens gaunlet the clock stopped at 30 seconds why was that?

10 points if they get through in 20 seconds, 5 points if they get through in 30 seconds

@@OneHundredPercentAus In Teresa's run, Tony Schibeci referenced the 25 second time limit. The possible reason why the clock went to 30 seconds in Rod's run was either because John Alexander allowed extra time to compensate for Vulcan being too rough to Rod, or because John Alexander and John Forsyth didn't pay attention to the time (which could explain why the time overlapped by a few seconds in early Season 1 episodes). The time limit increased to 30 seconds in Season 3.

I was against John the whole way. I don’t really know what his strategy was in Gauntlet. Did he really think shoulder-butting the gladiators was going to work? I mean, I get it’s the first series and all that, but he had to know that aiming right for the gladiators wasn’t going to get him anywhere. I see this often in events like this or Hang Tough, where the object is to *avoid* the gladiators, not engage them

His left foot does touch it - he should be made to start the obstacle again. But the refs are on the ground and could not see it. Although there are 3 guys on that platform they're not referees - 2 to hold the ropes and 1 guy kneeling appears to have no purpose.

@@ashleywallace83 The guy kneeling is one of the referees & would send them back down if they broke the rules here Having played it in 0.25 Speed several times, it does look like the left of his left foot did touch the static section before he got his knees on the platform so should've been sent back down

Rebel keeps losing on Suspension Bridge. Hammer had a terrible show, its not fair to the other gladiators when another gladiator does Hangtough and then Duel or Suspension Bridge in the same show.

I would imagine it was fairly 'injury' based, They all talk about how especially to start with their bodies took a pretty big toll, so in episodes where one gladiator is playing multiple events i'd say this is why.

@@augladsfan3982 Yes regarding gladiators being injured, it does make sense especially with alot of shows to still film. It happened alot on uk gladiators also where you would often get a gladiator do 3 of the 5 events on the one show. Season 3 it did get frustrating in UK when once quarter finals came, Lightning was on every Hangtough through to the end and Nightshade was on Duel. Both suburb specialists in their event, but come on, I want to see Falcon flap her wings for the rings. Loving these early Australian shows I'm currently watching. It's pretty good for a 1st season, our UK 1st season seemed like the same show every week. And having first getting to know these Australian gladiators on the International and Ashes, you can see from these earlier shows filmed, it took abit of adjusting for them to adjust to being on camera and developing their characters, just like the UK gladiators.

@@gquinn4159 Yep, you'll notice in a few episodes here a few gladiators would only be in Gauntlet or Hit & Run (something quick and easy) and i'd say they would have had other glads down to play the 1 on 1 events but would have to make last minute injury changes quite often. I think there's an episode in series 3 where Condor does every single event. It was very much the same here, with only four events too it was tough to space them all out in different events. In the heats they would try be a little more diverse but by the Quarters it was always Cheeta/Delta pyramid, Flame/Storm Duel, Blade/Fury Hang Tough, does get a little dull.

In the early episodes of the UK versions, they had the same Gladiator against both contenders until they eventually had a different one for both because I suppose by then, they had enough to make sure they had as much screen time as possible in a single episode. You'd think it'd be a thing where a Gladiator can only do so many 1v1 events in a day so someone else can have a go.

In later seasons I feel like I would always see Hammer and Condor on the pyramid, always Taipan and Commando on Hang Tough, always Vulcan and Tower in Duel, etc. With the women, I saw Fury and Glacier paired up frequently on both Pyramid and Wall. On the one hand, it is boring seeing the same gladiators in the same events over and over, but on the other hand it’s not fair if one challenger draws a gladiator who is a beast at a given event and the other draws a gladiator who can barely do the event-like what happened on Hang Tough in this episode
