This is something we have been working towards for 10 years with the help of volunteers and supporters, and the day has arrived.
Our first project on Brupeg with the Australian Navy Cadets here in Queensland, Australia.
We had a great day with TS (Training Ship) Bundaberg's Navy Cadets, four groups did a tour through Brupeg and one drone group got some air time.
The Cadets had their RIBs on the water and it turned out to be a fun and busy day.

Hi Damien and Jess, I have watched our channel for a long time. My attachment to your boat is even greater. My Dad was a deck hand on Brupeg when it was first launched in Tweed Heads and his fascination with the water and sea was from when he was a kid he joined the Navy cadets. As he went onto become a father he also had me do Navy Cadets as well and now my children want tk do this. It is particulary difficult to get cadets onto vessels these days and even with my career as a ships agent getting access is hard. Thank you so very much. I hope to get to Bundy again and would love to share some stories on the early days of Brupeg that my Dad who recently passed told me.

Yip sorting out systems takes time. Brupeg will be on the hard, at sea and in marinas as is needed, for as long as needed.

I know what you mean,we were living on ours for a year before we started travelling, we were putting the solar system in and we built our water maker ourselves because it was cheaper than a pre built one. The one thing we do need that we don’t have are stabilisers( I call them flopper stoppers). We are currently thinking about putting in a domestic air conditioner because our marine one shit itself

Great to see the young people on the ship! My daughter was a UK sea cadet and it really gave her a great ethos and discipline. She was on UK TS NEWFOUNDLAND.

Working with cadets is extremely fulfilling. I have spent the last 20 years working with Canadian Sea, Air and Army Cadets (as well as a bit with the British RAF Cadets), and it has been amazing to watch these young people grow as leaders and good citizens. Please encourage your children and grandchildren to get involved on this kind of program. Bravo Zulu

Now that Brupeg is 'mostly' complete (no vessel is ever 'fully finished'), it would be nice to get a video version of the Cadet's tour. We've seen bits and pieces of her as each system has been worked on, but no comprehensive 'over all' vision of how things look without tools everywhere and sweaty, cursing 'bilge slaves' worming their way into incredibly small spaces... 😻🤟👍

I was a cadet Petty Officer as a young fellow and later an instructor with a unit on Brisbane Water near Gosford, NSW. The Navy is to be applauded for maintaining this high level of training and exposure to the Navy world and Brupeg has been instrumental in achieving the desired result. Many Cadet units are not as fortunate as those near naval bases in obtaining sufficient time aboard naval vessels, so I applaud you in making Brupeg available for them to actually get all touchy feely 😁🏆👍

In general the type of youth that is involved with Cadets, scouting or Jr. Forest wardens and such organizations are typically very respectful individuals. To have the moxie to be a part of a group fellowship for the most part goes against what your average young person is into. So it is mostly seen as "uncool" or "geeky" to be apart of it. It takes a different kind of kid to stand up to the ridicule of the social norms. That's why they are more respectful and are given to putting others ahead of themselves. You are providing a great service to these young men and women by sharing your knowledge and expertise. Kudo's to you Brupeg.

Y our schedule will probably mix with some of the navy's ideas. Great they gave you small groups. Should cover fuel & food coverage, keep receipts. The food part is what sink or swims the process. Nice salads a must, octapus. No pigs trotters.. Should be nice thinking up ideas. Only offered fish & chips on sub. So didn't enlist. You probably will have a list of things to sort if you go to sea(washing). The navy should give a preamble on what they want to do. Hope that's the case. Flags are used to identify what's going on. Very handy to convey a message. Enjoy.
