Hi Billy, thanks for your review! Always great to hear quality reviews. I have the E2P and I absolutely love it! This drone is an outstanding piece of technology. Not only does it have a great imaging system in the 6K 1-in sensor, but it is a beast when it comes to handling the wind. I live in Las Vegas and the winds in the desert can get pretty strong. Just a month or so ago I was filming a sunrise with gusts up to 50 miles per hour and it sat like a rock! With the firmware and Explorer software updates and having the ability to dial in the sensitivity, I can make it fly as smooth as soft silky butter! Absolutely fantastic! To me, it's worth every penny and I would definitely recommend the E2P over the M2P to any pilot looking for a drone with a 1-in sensor.

I have never had any of the flight control issues that you speak of, whatsoever, and I've owned & flown the Evo 2 Pro for some 6 weeks now, the camera on the E2P is simply outstanding. I’m still baffled by your over emphasis and focus on flying ludicrous mode, when pilots fly in standard mode most of the time. I'll keep repeating myself, Kyle, stick to reviewing DJI only, as your outright bias towards their products clearly shows once again in this review.

Thanks for taking the time for a review . My first impression of Autel Robotics EVO 2 is looking at the remote controller itself before evaluating anything else, it has a dedicated FPV ,which is Technologically SUPERIOR to flying a drone with any phone. A Phone is a Phone and will never be better than a dedicated controller with FPV as that is its only function so long as quality parts FAA approved are used, keep up the good work. Kudos to Autel Robotics for integrating FPV into the remote controller, hopefully the FAA will make it mandatory.

I had my first flight with the AE2Pro yesterday and this drone is outrageously good! The clarity, resolution, and color quality are cinematic and worth the extra weight and bulk IMHO. I wanted to test the RTH today but the winds are 35 gusting to 42 and it's 13ªF! I have all the Mavics from the Pro, 2Pro, Mini2, and they're all sitting in the basement. :-D Thanks for your usual excellent review; but surprised you did not try the RTH accuracy. Cheers!

Great video. I'm glad to hear that the EVO2 Pro did well for you because I canceled my order after watching your bad experience with the 8k version. However, after canceling the order I continued to do more research on the Pro version for more positive reviews and decided reorder it. It will be arriving on Monday. I'm glad you posted this , because your previous video (and those of others) sorta put me off of buying this drone, and I instead got a P4P v2 to replace my crashed P4 Standard. I had been waiting a long time for Autel to release the Evo with a 1" sensor but too late , I shot my wad on a Phantom instead. I may still consider an Evo if they can iron out all the kinks. Good on them that they reportedly have great customer service as we may need it as they get this all fixed.

Found the time to fly one battery, well I did around 25 minutes and still have 10 according to the app which actually started with 35, so it's pretty consistent, and I have to say I am very happy with the flight characteristics and mostly very impressed with the camera. Yes the remote is a bit of a weak link, I keep hitting the left one that activates voice control, but at least with my tablet its not working, maybe I have to activate it further in the app, but I dont care for the gimmick all that much anyway. Thanks Billy, glad you had a better experience this time around, frankly you almost made me cancel my order, but Ken kept me in line.

I know the DGI makes the best drones, but I felt like I needed to invest my money into a American company, Just being a new hobbyist I'm sure I won't know the difference. I wish I could afford to buy the mavic air 2 also, but I just don't have the money, to tell the truth Billy, I wish I could afford to start flying fpv quad, but boy it not cheap either. Hi Billy. You said from the first video about the EVO 2 that you do not like the EVO 2. You didn't like the controllerr, the wait it flights, design, color, etc. With that being said automatically in my opinion you are desqualified to give a second honest non bias review about the Evo 2. It is obvious to me that you LOVE DJI and that is fine, but the EVO 2 PRO has no competition at the moment in regards, camera capabilities, interchangeable cameras, speed. Etc. I have an EVO 2 8K - and have not seen any of the left kicks you describe - but have limited flight time with it yet. I do find the gimbal and controller too sensitive, as a novice pilot it is hard to do smooth turns and change of direction/speed

Hi Billy, thanks for your faith in Autel again. Have you try to upgrade the firmware of 8k version to 2.3.0? the newly launched firmware 2.3.0 allows the tuning of flight including exp and sensitivity. Please try it and feedback on how you feel. We will keep improving.

I just got the Evo II 8k about 2 weeks ago. It seems to be a strong flier and I haven’t had any problems with a flight drift. I found it to handle real nice actually. Sounds like maybe it was a quality issues on yours. Wonder if you have a motor rotation problem? I have to agree with your 8k statement, for me I thought maybe a nice future advancement but 4K & 6k do me justice just fine.

My thought was why pay $2.600 for a nice Autel drone when you can pay $1,100 more for the best drone in the sky. It's the Enterprise V3 with a 50 MP one inch 6k camera. Larger motor & props, longer arms made from carbon fiber (can handle 5 mph faster wind and has longer battery life). A whopping 8 mile range. Comes with a powerful spot light, very loud PA speaker and a strobe. I only hold a recreational license, but this business drone was for me! You mention how good the DJI drones were. I returned the Mavic 3 Classic because it failed to track my tractor moving upto 13 mph. Sure, it was fast, but couldn't follow me when I was doing my chores.

It seems like Autel rushed the drone out the door, given pending DJI announcements, when in fact it needed a lot more testing and detailing on the controller interface. We'll never know, of course, but good to know this PRO model seems to fix the problems of the 8k. As a side note, you're right to be suspect of the 8k mode.

And I was wondering if you could answer a question for me? I have been looking and can't find any information on photo modes for the Evo 2 more specifically if it is able to perform 360 panoramas?

almost a month with the 6k and my drone flew straight but it was hesitating and jumpy which improved with EXP. then the new firmware came down this week and everything is good now. billy, i think the sensors are kicking off your drone even when you are far away it's still too close to objects. also instead of manual flight mode, try the other modes like precision and you'll see this drone can ALMOST fly like a dji.

One topic that I don’t see anybody doing any reviews on is on the application side of things and how well the drones are supported by all of the various applications that are out there and I was wondering if you had any thoughts on that? For example, when I bought the first DJI Enterprise drone it would not work with drone deploy and some other apps. My new mini 2 does not work with many apps as well. It seems like a valid consideration when deciding on what drone to buy, if you want to use a particular app. Any thoughts on what apps any of these drones, like the Evo, is greatly appreciated!

Hey Billy! I bought my EVO2 8k version when it was first released. I have had zero issues whatsoever flying the Evo2 8k. That being said, of course my Mavic Air 2 does fly a lot smoother. But to be honest, I enjoy flying them both!🤙

Thanks for the review. Some other posters with E2 have noticed strange behavior when the sun hits the obstacle avoidance sensor(s). It appears to be detecting an obstacle where there is only sun light. Did you see the strange behavior of the 8K drone with OA on or off?

You can always turn off obstacle avoidance for when it becomes an issue. I have the drone for months in use now and have not encountered this issue.

No comment because DJI will get mad at him if he tells the truth and they won't send him the new mav 3 to review when they finally get it ready enough to not embarass themselves vs. The competition (skydio 2, evo 2) so he is keeping his lips sealed on this one. Luckily for you I am here to say that the evo 2 slaps the $h!t out of all dji drones. And each month or so they deal out a new blow again and again when they release new firmware updates and unlock more and more potential from this incredible tech filled beast. Owner of evo 2 8k. However, Friday night I was horsing around with my dog and the mini and smashed into a tree at 24 mph, breaking the gimble mount. @@svnbit8408 The controller could be better but it will be over time. I have several dji products and the Evo 2 feels more like my Inspire 2. I get windy days and the Evo 2 handles it well. All in all I like the Evo 2 Pro and would buy it again. The firmware upgrades seem to tweak little issues as well as some changes in general.

Philippe Dassonval Mavic Pro 2: Max 4K 30fps. Evo 2 4K 60fps and 6K. Evo II has no geofencing which means fly where you want, it’s personal accountability. Evo has FAR better customer support on anything from a repair to troubleshooting something your having difficulty with. You got a question and they have an answer. Mavic 2 pro only has automatic flight modes and automatic tracking which is slightly better.

The craft which I own has some handling issues. They only let you use expo on the rudder (yaw). They need to implement it on all axis for smooth flight. I cannot make normal coordinated turns and fly like your a supposed to. This means rudder , bank and a little back on the stick to make nice turns. Also, there is a issue with mapping and the app. When mapping there is a very long pause built in at the end of each line in the grid to setup and turn into the next line of photos. Its god awful slow and wastes lots of time. So I emailed Autel and got the following which was zero help. "Thank you for contacting Autel Robotics Support. In regards to the mapping pauses that is put in place to ensure that the images captured at those locations are in focus and still. In the event that the drone moves too quickly during image capture the images can come out blurry and out of focus. As for the EXP controls at this time you can change the gimbal sensitivity in the Gimbal settings and the other settings you mentioned are actually becoming available shortly to allow for further control of the EVO II. Thank you for your patience and let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you!" Why would I want to adjust the gimbal sensitivity to match shitting handling ? And the mapping pause answer shows the agent answering the question knows nothing as the explained the "line" was changing to the next one and no photos were being taken during the change over. Anyhow this thing might be going back for a return and I might just be sticking with DJI unfortunately because these people have not fully fixed things especially the expo issue before the drone was released and its silly simple thing.

You forget that the Evo II is a precision Instrument unlike the "Ferrari-DJI" I was able to capture 4 second Night Exposures in a thunderstorm, just because it is heavy and does not get tossed around as much as the lighter drones. . You have no clue about Photography and some of the stuff you say makes me cringe... which makes it not wise to crank up the aperture to the max without good reason. . The sensor is bigger, and thus is able to capture more light, give a better image quality... of course this increases the size of the Gimbal and as such the size of the Gimbal protection. If you use it a couple of times You get the hang on how to take it on and off... . In your previous video you were totally unfamiliar with the use of the drone and it does not seem to have improved. To rate a drone low, just because you are too lazy to adjust to a new controller, software and settings is not fault of the drone. It is You being lazy and clearly totally unmotivated. . The drone flies at 72km/h which is just as fast as the DJI, it is just not as agile... so I would compare it as Mercedes and Ferrari. . I use this drone for photogrammetry, measuring out construction sites and making 3d models, which is why precision > agile flight... as I am able to precisely survey an area even in strong winds of 50 km/h... . However I am not super happy with the drone as Flight time and also Range is vastly exaggerated. I also agree that the tracking sucks a lot on this drone... but again, this drone is not made for agile stuff... . As the drone is fairly new we can expect many updates to come which will address these problems and improve overall quality, DJI just has a huge head start... giving them a competitor will improve quality of DJI/Autel and their competitors overall. I think this is a good thing.

I have had a mavic platinum for a few years now. I recently purchased a mavic mini and dude let me tell you it's Soooo much fun. It was a toss up between mavic air 2 or the mini. But just like you I wanted something where I didn't hafto bother with all the faa rules etc.. I have absolutely no regrets, be sure to get the fly more package and also get yourself a car charger. This thing is always in my trunk. And my best flights I've ever had have actually been with the mini due to impromptu flights. I mean, you ever find yourself in a spot, not on purpose and you think to yourself, damn I wish I had my drone, this spot I'm at right would be awesome to fly in. So ya just because of that, the unplanned unprepared flights has gotten me the best flights to date. It's a very capable drone, it's certainly not a toy. Sure there's gonna be plenty of features missing but you get used to it fast. In other words I highly recommend the mini, you'll have no regrets at all. Let's un know how you make out.

I found out that the autel evo 2 is known for crabbing. If you callibrate the compass in both the drone and in the controller this will fly straight as a die

Shooting 6k footage is excellent for cropping or zooming of shots without any loss of 4k resolution

Hemp Tech I wasn’t referring to tv’s, I was referring to social media that stream content in 4k. The Evo 2 is primarily a recreational drone Commercial filmmakers will not use recreational drones to shoot 8k footage, they will use commercial drones with higher spec cameras. So I think you comment about Bill Gates is off with the fairies.

Also I find it quite arrogant to talk about Quality Issues and Hardware updates without any form of proof. Could be that you forgot to calibrate drone/gimbal/controller, could be something else.
