Boat mode mostly just decreases the IMU sensitivity, allowing the drone to arm when there is movement, e.g., the rocking motion of the boat. The warning explains that home point will still be the place where the drone took off, so if your boat is moving it will not come back to the boat in RTH, it will go back to the point where it took off, which now is open water. Also, if the boat is moving when you lift off, the drone will not stay in place over the boat, it will stay in place where it took off. So if you launch from the bow of a moving boat the boat will drive into the drone. If you launch from the aft of a moving boat, the drone will appear to drift away off the back of the boat. Best to launch from the aft area. This is same for DJI and Autel drones.

@@matthewsequoyah2665 I think the biggest use for boat mode is the ability to arm while the drone is moving a bit. For landing there's no need. Some recommend turning off boat mode once in the air.

You missed the attitude indicator, top right corner of the little map you'll see a little crosshair looking icon, tap on that and the map gets replaced with the attitude indicator.

Nice job, here we are March 2024 and I have bought the EVO II Pro V3... I have looked in a lot of places for info and have not found the quality of information you have shared here. Thank you Note: I have been flying drones since May 2018 and have had 11 models of DJI product. Autel could do so much better. Your information will allow me to give this drone a better chance of staying in my fleet.

There are options for it in the settings. If it's set to auto it will come on at night by itself.

I'm an 80-year-old great-grandpa that never flew anything more complicated than a kite until recently. When my kids saw how interested I was in their children's drones they went together and bought me an EVO 2 8K. Now I'm trying to play "Catch-up" with the little "crumb snatchers". That has led me to watch hundreds of hours of videos and spend hours reading the Explorer and Operator's Manuals(4 times). Your video helped a great deal but I have one question that no one has addressed. Several places in the Explorer App Manual, they refer to the "Learning Center" in the AutelExplorer App. What is it, where is it and how do you access it? Like I said, this is all new so (if you take the time to reply) please keep your answers simple. I'm confused enough already

Great video ! Very informative for anyone just getting their EVO II. I wish you had this when I got mine, would have saved me some trial and error. Trying to figure he’s video mode for just the novice right now so the more you get plain about video settings the better that will be as well. Not looking for money making quality just entertainment.

I am very interested in getting my part 107 and doing aerial photography for real estate or other entry level drone piloting jobs. The last 6 years before covid I ran a burn table and water jet cutting tables and was part of the united steelworkers union. I cant seem to find anything that pays what I was making in that field so I want to change to doing something I love and that pays fairly well for my time. Hope all is well. The EVO 2 is certainly a different 'flavor' from DJI drones, but it's a VERY capable and impressive UAS.(unmanned aerial system). The 6k camera is awesome and the orange color really helps with visually tracking it. I love mine ! ! There's a lot to it so take your time really getting to know it. Be cautious and have FUN.

Boat mode is just that, being on a boat. Evo2 will hover and remain static. You will need to change your home point to ME and update as you move around.

I have the same drones. The EVO consistently is the best at stills and video. However it’s big and heavy. I find I use the 4 mini the most for that reason.

Good information, thanks for going through all of that. Just a note to anyone trying to check out the HDR, I could only get it to work in "JPEG Only" and at the smallest file size, otherwise the HDR Icon is just not on the screen. Im guessing this is intentional and it kind of makes sense, since the settings are basically nuetral in Raw, it wouldnt be conducive to HDR

Excellent overview of the app. It would be great if you could describe in more detail the various flight and mission modes like, what the heck is Tripod Track or Boat Mode for example. Gesture Control, Smart Orbit and Dual Stability. And what does “Time to Discharge” do?

Lipo batteries can be damaged by holding a full charge too long. You can set them to self discharge after a certain amount of days to avoid this usually 6 to 10 days. They heat up and lose about half their charge at the set time

Did you do a new video on the few menu changes after the latest updates? Like exp settings include changing the way the craft flies all the way around. I would like to tweak these settings but havent touched them due to being affraid i will mess something up.. i know you can go back to default but flying it after changing settings is scary..Just wondered thats all. Hope all is well over your way. Was gonna fly the evo 2 here today in Greensburg but kept wondering if it was gonna rain or not. So, I aired on the side of caution and stayed grounded. I will probably fly a battery or 2 after dinner. Anyway, happy and safe flying. Thanks for the informative videos

Yes, touch screen when you are in the settings and when you are looking ate the iso or resolution stuff at the bottom of the screen you can use the right scroll wheel also.
