I have almost the same exact issue with OA on the Autel Nano Plus. Best to just turn off OA if your flying towards the sun, or any other bright light source. Great video Marcus, and thanks for sharing.

They say there isn't Geo fencing, but I think there is to a degree. I've noticed this with my EVO 1. When there is certain areas parks, event locations etc it will act odd. I have an EVO Lite+ on the way and looking forward to seeing how far I can push this drone.

I wonder if you can calibrate the sensors using the same OA calibration tool used for the EVO II. It's done on the computer like the DJI Assistant.

Another cool video! I was bothered by the OA problems on the first part. Since it worked so well this time, it might be a function of it not over heating. I say that because there were no false OA warnings when the drone faced the Sun this time. Does the drone have a cooling fan? In the heat of the day, it might have been going a little delirious and popping up false warnings. I'm not sure I would like living in some of those houses. I think I could have walked between them and drug my hands along both sides.. Any way, keep up the good work!

I suspect Autel put OA sensors on that drone because they had to; to be competitive. However, they just don't work. 🤷‍♂️

It was nice to see in part 2 that the OA was working like it should. However, it seems that Autel should make sure that it works correctly in all conditions, even sunny days.

I'm certain it was the bright sun that caused the issue. I'm not sure if it could be calibrated to avoid that.

I like the Lite+ but since I have Nano+ and Evo 2p 6k V1, it doesn't offer more than what I already have. Both of them will land consistently within a couple of inches of take off point, usually less. On July 4th after filming a fireworks show at night, the E2P even landed within a foot of take off point which is really good. I find it interesting and a little perplexing that the Lite+ doesn't have the same precision landing feature. All Autel drones are well known for having overly sensitive OA sensors. One would think they would dial them back a little but it is what it is. Many just turn them off. Still no confirmation on if there will be another Autel consumer level drone.

Do you ever have any issue witu tilted horizon or camera shake during hyperlape videos? Mine will do it a lot, even when wind isnt an issue. It will be fine until maybe 20 mins in it will start drifting and i get a ton or camera shake or it will start tilting the horizon. It has screwed up a number of otherwise great hyperlape videos. Autels software isnt all that. The tracking software sucks. Had it dive bomb me once for no reason.

Marcus great video as always but I have to tell you I am really upset right now with these drone laws. To be totally honest the only on that effect's me is the LOS line of site. I have read that and listen to FAA agents talk about it and if you fly a drone it is impossible to keep. I flew and I say flew because I got rid of my drone to stay on the right side of the law. I flew a DJI Mini 2 and loved it, didn't have to register so you don't have to worry about RID if you are a hobbyist which I am. According to the LOS rule you must keep your drone in site at ALL TIMES. If you have ever flown a Mini 2 you can have it insight and look down and it is almost impossible to see again. There is no way to keep this rule which it is law to keep it. The FAA says if you are looking at your camera a lot you must have a spotter. I like to fly daily, I don't know about you all but I don't have a number of people on standby to stand and look up. I really believe no matter what the FAA says this law will be the death knell of the drone and now RC hobby as a whole. Please do a video on this rule and educate us if I am missing something, I hope I am I will buy another Mini 2. Thanks for all you do for the hobby Jerry

Said before... AND I'll say it again - i didnt mind the controller at first, or at least I was willing to deal wuth it as Autel continued hinting that Smart Controller SE compatibility was in the works. Once I researched the situation, it became obvious that It was never going to happen. That controller uses Tri-band, including 5.2 Ghz band. Guess what? DJI has done the same with O4 and RC-2. It ALSO will not have interoperability with O3/O3+ aircraft like MAVIC 3 Series or Mini 3 Pro, Air 2S etc. Clean break with every previous model (unless they kludge a partial working model, but its doubtful) I knew none of this until today as more detail gets out. The price of progress can be painful at times..like now, lol!

Also, Autel hasnt released Firmware since forever on their consumer models. I guess tracking cars, bikes, boats isnt going to happen, since its been just under 2 YEARS since they promised it.
