I'm enthralled by this electrician's voice. It sounds like a synthesized robotic voice from 8-bit video games of the 80's. It's awesome. Guy should be doing some voice acting as a side hustle! And now that you have this charger in place....when you getting an F-150 Lightning? :D

Totally agreed! Would personally pay money for Books on tape narrated by Brian! Could listen to him talk about anything

Hahaha! I really want the F150 hybrid with the generator. I think my channel would have to do a lot better.

We have been driving a Nissan Leaf (a poor man's ev) for about 5 years now. It goes back and forth to work and runs errands for pennies a day. I wouldn't recommend pulling a trailer with it or going on long road trips, but we do put 25000 miles a year on it and that's miles we don't put on our suv that we pull our teardrop with. We had a simple 14-50 outlet installed in our garage and it works great and easily charges the car overnight.

I would really like to move to an EV soon, and a used Leaf is on my short list. I live in a small city in a rural area, and the Leaf seems like the perfect errand-running vehicle. Since I'd probably still keep an ICE around, I am thinking the older models that got only 80 miles of range might be the most cost-effective option, but the 200-mile+ range of later models would give me access to the two larger cities both about 60 miles away. Decisions, decisions.

It’s getting really exciting! This RAV4 prime is a pretty impressive vehicle .

Great job on the video Brian! Thanks for making it. I'm thinking that eventually campers are just going to come with a standardized EV charging port for their onboard battery. Being able to charge your camper batteries at a much higher rate as well as anywhere you can charge an EV makes a whole lot of sense.

Not a bad price for what you get, but it charges too slow for my preference. I have a 80A charger that i installed on a 100A circuit and its quite nice 5% to 90% in 3-4 hours. Too bad they don't make those ones anymore though.

Really nice to see the fast charging options at home. What brand was your 80a?

@@DIYOutdoorLife sorry i didn't get a notification of a reply, but i digress. I have the Tesla Gen 2 HPWC (High Powered Wall Connector) which has since been discontinued it was sold for like $400-$500 originally but now goes for about $1k on ebay for a used one. Tesla now sells the Gen 3 HPWC that caps out at only 48A on a 240V line. But it has a lot of features that are common on other brands and only costs $350 but I'll stick with my 80A version.
