1CUP= 250ml, 1/2CUP= 125ml, 1TSP= 5ml, 1/2 TSP= 2.5ml,
Goan Prawn Molho
Ingredients required for prawn marinade
55-60 medium prawns
1 tsp Kashmiri chilly powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp salt
Ingredients required for masala paste
20 Kashmiri chillies
10 medium garlic cloves
17-20 cloves
1 tsp peppercorns
1” cinnamon stick
2” ginger piece
1/2” tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 cup vinegar
Other ingredients required
1 cup oil or as required (asides mustard oil, coconut oil, peanut oil and sesame oil any other oil is fine)
1/4 cup vinegar
1-2 tsp sugar
Salt to taste
Tips:
1- Ensure the prawns are fried completely till it turns hard. This will give longer shelf life.
2- Always ensure there is sufficient oil to cover the molho.

Thank you very much ☺️ Authentic mole is made with vinegar and for a longer shell life.. You can add less vinegar and grind with little water. This will last for 3-5 days in refrigerator.

It's the same recipe as vindaloo then why do u call it molho ? By the way I tried ur fish vindaloo turned out to be awesome....thank u for recipe

The masala Ingredients are almost the same, except in Vindaloo, you need to add mustard seeds. Molho is prepared without onion & the masala has to cook till it attains a darker colour. Approx. 20-30 minutes on low flame. No water to be added. The Vindaloo requires onions while sautéing & you don’t have to cook the masala for too long.

Hi. Don't you need to fry onions till golden brown and then add the prawns. Also what preservatives could one use here,?

Hi Michael Authentic Molho is prepared without onion. Sufficient oil covering the top is good enough as a preservative.

@@louisacoelho9226 Hi Hi Molho & Balchao is always prepared with vinegar.
