I can't imagine the trauma of losing a loved one without getting justice or closure. If this helps any, maybe the suspect doesn't live a good life. Maybe they too suffer unsettling & torturous nightmares, have daily paranoia of being arrested, wrestle with the spirits of those they harmed & always wonder what part of their life is just karma from their crimes. Even if they have found God or have remorse, they live with the regret!

This IS a triumph. This family has answers. Do they have all of them? No. How could they? Does any family who has a loved one ripped away in such a fashion? I think not. To see that a case- after 44 long years- had been brought to fruition- really IS wonderful! Life is not a Dick Wolfe show 😒 I hate to say and that law-enforcement was able to preserve evidence for this extended period of time, have the dedicated officers who had faith that answers could be found, and city officials who believed them- and didn't push them just to 'make an arrest'- but knew that the RIGHT person needed to be arrested for this heinous crime- that IS amazing. After reading over these posted comments, I find it a bit conflicting as many seem very curious about the man responsible - his appearance- rather than the details of the case OR what THEY could do to assist. As the daughter of a retired State prosecutor, I have a special place in my heart for those who want to do the right thing and although I didn't follow my father into that field, I keep up with it in many ways. If you, yourself, would like to assist law enforcement with genetic genealogy data, please share your's at GEDmatch and allow it to be available for such purposes. In doing so, this allows those who have managed to outrun the rules and the laws, those who believe because they are NOT a convicted felon, that they are 'safe' No one who treats another human being that way that Dottie was treated should live with the belief that they are 'safe'. Mind my Kentucky bluntness, but 'Actions speak louder than words'. Go ahead and get ALL the way off these people's back who ARE making the world a better place by doing their job properly, effectively, and within the actual rules. Was this fast? No. But guess what? 44 years ago, I was a child. Not even double digits. My Dad was a criminal prosecutor. He didn't retired until late 2010s- and still consults. 🤨 This TIME period- evidence wasn't that way. We are talking a time of 'follicle' similarities and 'bite evidence' 🤦♀️ in some cases. Blood matches were broad. DNA was a very broad term back then. I am grateful that this team had such integrity- such dedication. And Dottie- wow- what an amazing lady who was taken from everyone. One who understood life was about loving her family, giving back to those in need, working with those you enjoy and being your own person. What a blessing that this monster IS living and gets to be called out in this lifetime. I hope ALL the monsters who did such things get this memo. I haven't seen him but I promise he looks like an average, forgettable dude. Because he was. Monsters blend in, that's why they hide. 😒 They aren't scary or deformed, they look like everyone. No one. They look like YOU. Me. That guy. This girl. Be grateful he is caught. Do your part. 44 years is good.
