I have always found this story super interesting because I had something eerily similar happen. Not a corn rake but a regular garden rake. I fell on it while raking rotten apples. I hurt myself, but I’m obviously still alive. Well, after I fell, I was hurt so bad that when I tried to get up, I fell right back down because of the pain, right back onto the rake. But I wonder, if I was actually hurt so badly that I died, would my husband be in prison right now?

Plus she was already dizzy from that surgery. Could you imagine being dizzy then the pain? Or slipping in a dirt floor, manybe tripping over equipment on the ground. It’s good to hear you’re OK. I remember watching this story the first time thinking it seems possible to have fallen down twice if you’re that dizzy. Thank you for sharing a you’re inside.

Yes, we all react differently to situations like this. He knew being convicted, his son would be an orphan and he would spend the rest of his life behind bars. Also the love between them had faded. All this could very well have made him numb and seemingly cold. A conviction should be based on facts, evidence and credible witnesses, not feelings or beliefs!

_His Defense should've coached him to look like he cared._ He did not love her, they had Marital issues, that's why he had no emotion which made him look bad to the Jury. A Jury will think you're Guilty if you have no Emotions. _She dealt with their Relationship being terrible by sleeping around with two Guys,_ and then she talked about Divorce to folks, which brought Hatred in his heart. Todd should've just let her go regardless of possibly having to pay child support, Alimony, and losing half the Farm. He had a Temper as well per witnesses. His Character was in question in this case.

What confuses me, if she was assaulted, why does she only have 6 puncture wounds, not 8 from 2 strikes. ?She'd have 8 being hit twice from a 4 spiked fork. Trying to get back up & falling backwards again at a different angle loosing balance, creating 6. 2 human strikes would result in 8. no? **she was cleaning lightbulbs and lost her balance twice, in front of her child even, being high up.

At the end of my marriage if this would have happened to my wife I would have reacted the same exact way. The heart is beyond broken and all emotion is gone.

But I have found through personal experience that many religious people are not loving,nice or helpful in the least. (Think of the Puritans and you have 'religious people' today). They are deeply unforgiving and stiff necked. Look for the person who is kind, decent and loving with a good sense of humor..

Happy that I’m not the only one that thinks this. The juror openly says “if not Todd then who else”. As if their incredulity is somehow a sign of his guilt. I definitely wouldn’t be happy sending a man to jail for the rest of his life on such little evidence.

I’ve often been called cold an unemotional. If someone close to me was injured I’d feel confident that I could get them to the hospital faster than an ambulance. It’s a good thing this jury isn’t responsible for my fate. Did he do it? Maybe. Did the prosecution prove that? They sure as hell didn’t.

The prosecutor enraged me on his response to being accused a crime is not that of an innocent person's. Three interviews found here on KZbin of people accused of crimes that were later proven to be innocent stand out in my head. All three were calm.( A fourth one I just remembered cried and denied it was a drug addict - the only one who showed the "appropriate" response). The bf in the Denise Huskins case. One was black guy when the police were looking at for a white guy. I can't remember the specifics of the third other than it was a white guy. Also watched plenty of cases this channel were the husband's/bf's interview behaviour were supposed to indicate their guilt only to find out they had nothing to do with it. Behaviour and reaction means nothing.

I know for a fact it's faster to drive to the hospital then wait for an ambulance the last time we called an ambulance out to the ranch it took them almost an hour to get here the last time I called the police out here it took over 2 hours for them to get here so the fastest help she could have gotten was by being driven immediately to the hospital and if that dispatcher hadn't told him to pull over she may have had a chance to survive

As of April 2023 Todd Mullis has asked for a new trial after some lawyers looked in to the case. Turns out the sheriff was good friends with Amy and so should not have been involved in this case. I hope he is granted a new trial with a more effective counsel and jurors who understand “reasonable doubt”.

Yes, the fact that "belief" was the only thing they had to go on is enough only to believe someone is guilty, It's not enough to believe someone is guilty beyond reasonable doubt. That should be based on more than circumstantial evidence and feelings based on the "cold" behaviour of the suspect.

Hope he gets an appeal. I live in Iowa. People act on emotion not facts. They convicted on personality. A 17 year old shot his friend point blank in the middle of the day on a sidewalk downtown. He got 2 years. He's already free.

My family lives on a 600 acre farm at least 20-30 minutes from the hospital. I heard screaming as my husband & his brother were hit by a truck while riding a 4 wheeler. I jumped in the truck & backed up to my brother-in-law who was laying in the field with a broken leg. My husband took over driving to the hospital. That's how it's often done out in the country. My husband was a US Navy SEAL with extensive training in offensive & defensive driving. I know we got there quicker than it would have taken for an ambulance to get there & then turn around & drive to the hospital. 🤷‍♀️

My childhood home was in the country and we actually had a situation where 911 was called and it took 28 minutes for an ambulance to arrive. The County we lived in and the neighboring County were arguing about who was closer to our address and couldn't decide... I can drive to EITHER counties hospital in less then 20 minutes without breaking any laws.. 28 minutes just to arrive.. not make it to the emergency room.

There is little to no evidence that Todd did this. As SOON as the son said she was having dizzy spells that day I immediately put together what could have happened and it baffles me that nobody thought of this. This could have easily been accidental. Ex: she went into the red shed, while trying to get the cat box she got dizzy and fell on the corn rake, tried to pick herself up but fell again. Also, if she would have been “hit” 3 times wouldn’t we have 12 stab wounds? Instead of 6? Also, I think the friends are exaggerating a little. You can never rely on word of mouth, people like to twist things around to make it fit. I think she was cheating, looked up what happens to cheating wives. This whole case is a joke.

The problem with "sleuths" like yourself is you never actually look at fatal injuries critically when there's absolutely no suspicion of foul play (maybe several witnesses or zero opportunity for foul play). What you'd find if you did this is that, unless you have a second by second video of how someone got injured, many injuries would be hard to explain after the fact.

I’ve always lived in the country. I’ve been seriously hurt several times, never called 911, and drove myself to a hospital. I’ve also gotten up and fallen again on one of those accidents. I’ve also been a private investigator that investigated murders and I can tell you that blood would have been everywhere had someone hit and killed her. I believe she fell on the corn rake because she was dizzy and was then injured so badly that she fell on the rake again while the rake was still partially stuck in her back, causing more punctures than four. An innocent man has been unjustly convicted. There was more than reasonable doubt.

Yes! That is exactly what I think happened and is what I've thought since watching the trial live. Fact, she was dizzy. Having recently had a surgery of some sort. She walks into a storage barn/shed on a farm. Of course it's going to have everyday farm implements and other items in with the pet carrier. She walks in and gets dizzy, she falls back into the rake twines. She is hurt, bleeding and a nurse. She knows how bad she is hurt and knows she has to move herself. She pulls herself off and now the blood loss on top of being dizzy and she falls back into it. I've lived in the country my entire life in the country and this is totally in the realm of possibility.

I watched the entire trial. I think when she fell, by reflex she attempted to get up and then fell again. The prosecutor also accused him of saying something derogatory to her while performing CPR and having 911 on the line. I listened to the recording manny times and could not come close to that accusation. I couldn’t vote him guilty if I was on the jury.

It was odd to me when he became frustrated I think while doing CPR and sorta yelled at her to breathe, but I think it was his way of processing she just wasn’t going to be resuscitated and he was upset. Being mad at a loved one for leaving you is a normal part of grieving. I’m not taking up for this guy because this one has me perplexed but I sorta don’t think this was an accident.

Living at a far away farm, I , as well, would have take my close one and make a call from the car , to speed up the rode to the hospital. In highly stressful situations, human beings often make illogical decisions.

If someone goes to the restroom, or for water, as he did, you don't see the other person during that time, but you would notice if they took longer than usual.. The narrator even said there was not enough time for dad to get there and back. This was not brought out at trial. Sad.

exactly. i was screaming this the whole time. i don’t think the son did it but to me i think he looks more guilty than the dad. at first he said the dad never left his sight and then he changed his story to he doesn’t even know how long his dad was out of sight. possibly because he got spooked and wanted to save himself. again i’m 99% sure that’s not the case and i believe the son is innocent. but is there a possibly he did it? yes absolutely. utterly disgusting.

In rural areas you throw people in a truck first and call 911 on the way. Its much much faster and then generally you meet an ambulance. Thats normal even back in the day before cell phones only difference you drove or flew to the hospital.

It’s scary that he was convicted on the point of not calling 911 but instead taking her to the hospital. Ambulances can take ages to arrive, especially in places in the middle of nowhere, maybe on his appeal they will gather more evidence that actually does prove his guilt because this isn’t enough. As far as disposition: him being ‘guilty because he looked cold’, thats another tragic judgement. When my best friend died of suicide, I didnt outwardly show emotion, everyone is different, so it was foolish of them to mark him as guilty just because of these 2 things.

People in the country don't always call 911. My uncle held his leg together in the back of a pickup on the way to the hospital. My cousin got burned terribly and took himself to urgent care. He then went home in agony to heal for weeks AMA. Accidents happen on farms. This is a crazy verdict.

This is so true! I have heard countless stories. Women in advanced labor driving themselves to the hospital. A hunter who shot his friend with an arrow in the abdomen and hauled him in in the bed of a pickup. If driving to the hospital is the fastest way to get an injured person medical care, as opposed to waiting for emergency services to come to you, then it makes perfect sense to not call 911 until you’re already on the road. Why would you waste valuable time calling before you leave for the hospital, when you can make that call while you’re moving and let them know what’s going on.

For anyone interested, look up "ineffective assistance of counsel appeals" to check out just how difficult it is to prove that counsel was ineffective. For every 1,000 appeals, maybe it gets proven one time. Absurd.

My first question, if you were worried about your wife, why would you ask her to make any extra trips on the way to the house at all? Especially something so easy for you or your son to do? Why would you put her in danger at all. She should have been going straight to the house. And, why would you send your son to check on your mom if you didn't see the pet carrier? @Tentin Quarantino Where I live, we receive fully paid holidays, illness and jury duty time. We also have paid time off in the case of death of a family member. I've served on a jury. 8 of us had full time jobs and University degrees. We were all paid expenses for travel to and from court. We were given healthy lunches and snacks for breaks. That ensures a good and efficient jury, with nobody being disadvantaged by serving. Even the 2 smokers had a special room to use. I see it as my duty to serve on juries, if called.

I can’t believe the nail in the coffin was him not calling 911 and internet searches. I live in a very rural area and the nearest hospital is 40 minutes away. It’s extremely common for people in rural areas to either not call 911 and transport the injured person themselves, or call 911 on their way. We’ve had to call an ambulance before and it took them almost as long to get to our home than it did had we just drove them ourselves. The internet searches could have been made by anybody, especially the man she was cheating with being he worked there and probably had access to their computers. Idk if the husband did it, but they certainly shouldn’t have found him guilty. They did not prove him guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

That’s how some people do things, they don’t wait they act. He acted. What I would want in an emergency too if I were hurt, unless of course it’s a neck or back injury then it’s best to not move the person until help arrives. The one juror said he was trying to get her away from the crime scene/farm. That’s based on an assumption, and is not enough to convict someone.

It actually makes a lot of sense for someone living rurally but 12 minutes from the hospital to rush to the hospital (i.e. assured medical attention in 12 minutes) than to risk waiting for emergency response that may be dispatched from further away.

Depending on the situation calling on the way is your best bet if you need immediate help. It's fairly common in rural areas to do that. You can meet EMTs halfway but people should know not to remove objects if stabbed. In the moment he might not have realized it would slow her bleeding and ideally should've left the rake in her and put her in the car. Then drove while calling 911 on the way.

I believe there was reasonable doubt. I can think of a few other people who might want to hurt her. And even without those people I still think there was reasonable doubt. As for him not calling 911, I live in a rural area. It is faster to throw a person in a truck to take to the hospital instead of waiting on volunteers ambulance people. In rural areas it can take 45 minutes or longer to round up and get a volunteer crew out to a scene in my rural community. It seems like the jury decided they couldn't come up with another explanation so it must have been him vs did the prosecutor prove his case beyond a reasonable doubt. Based off what I saw here and heard from the jury...I would not have voted to convict.

An ambulance won't even be able to get back where I live because we didn't have the necessary equipment to clear huge oaks so nothing wider than a regular pick up can get down the last quarter of a mile and our neighbor lives only a 1/2 mile down the dirt road and it's a wide road but extremely bumpy and his wife had cancer and they came once and said they would not go back to that address so we have to at least get to our mailboxes at the railroad tracks and the hard road - they said that dirt road (limestone) is bad on their inside medical equipment so that's not odd to me at all but after all evidence presented I was convinced of his guilt and feel the jury got it right - he shouldn't have taken the stand and he would have had a better shot - the jurors on Anthony today's case said without his testimony they would have had reasonable doubt but the defendant can sometimes remove any reasonable doubt - maybe others wanted to hurt her but the detectives covered that angle very well - those computer searches were bazaar, Amy was curious how cheaters were dealt with in the middle ages? I doubt it and I doubt their children would search those subjects - the man is a control freak sorta like Anthony Todt

The iPad searches hit me hard because I work in IT and have managed hundreds of iPads and they are single tenant devices. What I mean is you can’t have multiple user profiles like a computer, it’s a shard device so whatever someone searches could be from anyone that’s used the device. Even if the husband did look that stuff up it’s sill not enough to convict and you can’t prove he looked it up so it shouldn’t be used as a deciding factor.

They always make it sound bad if you don’t call an ambulance but if you’ve ever been in a serious situation where every second counts sometimes you just throw them in the car and try to get them to help. I live in a small town you can get most anywhere in 15 minutes, the ambulance took closer to an hour to get to us. There is NOTHING wrong with setting the terms for reconciliation after an affair. Telling her that if she wants to reconcile, she needs to leave her job (likely where the affair started), that’s 100 percent fine. She could’ve left, which would’ve been fine, but she decided those terms were acceptable. Therefore she was not “forced”. Those are called consequences. Again, when you cheat you lose all bargaining power if reconciliation is what you really want. People honestly shouldn’t even give cheaters second chances

That woman had a surgical procedure the previous day and was dizzy from the medications. She probably climbed onto something to reach the pet carrier, fell onto the rake, tried to pull herself up off of it and fell back down onto it at least another time. SHE looked up those google searches just as she told all her conspiring girlfriends where to look for her if she vanished, because SHE KNEW that's what she deserved. He did not do this. An accident, the son, the cheating husband are all possible explanations. That jury is obviously uneducated and simple minded. This is a tragedy.

I’ve been a juror and some of the conclusions the other jurors come up with where based off personal feelings and/or their religion. Not to mention if you end up with a group of jurors who cannot interpret the law, innocent people will be convicted and guilty people will walk free. Some people would rather convict than potentially let a guilty person go. It’s terrifying. Someone’s fate really comes down to that.

There is certainly reasonable doubt here. They convict Todd because he didn't call 911, internet searches, and because he was without emotion on the stand. And, the fact that he looked out the barn, and saw the pet carrier was not where he asked his wife to put it, and then asked his son to go straight to the red shed to check on his mother could simply be because he knew that she wasn't feeling well. She had a history of texting and meeting up with her lovers, and then denying it. It is possible that she pretended to be dizzy to excuse herself to meet up with Jerry Frazier who worked on the farm, and who also admitted to lying about not having an affair with Amy. It's also convenient that his cell phone activity was at 10: 45, 11:45, and 12:45. It is also possible that it was simply a freak accident. There are quite a few holes in this case. I'm not sentencing someone to life in prison based on wonky evidence.

I could not agree with you more. It is terrifying. Thankfully, a defendant can always choose a judge to decide his/her fate instead of a jury. Judges were criminal lawyers and criminal lawyers know the law. If I were innocent, and yet there was evidence that I was not a likable person: eg. there was evidence that I was jealous, controlling, adulterous or [insert all personality flaws] I would DEFINITELY choose a judge and NOT a jury. It’s a myth that IQ equates to competency…. It’s why we have so many with learning disabilities, autism and other disabilities in the criminal justice system to be found “competent” . If he is innocent, I can see how he could be cold and unemotional about everything. I'm also stoic. It is scary to think that people could think the worst because you don't scream or cry because they would.

I really hope he gets a new trial, and better juror selection. Honestly when they said the jury had reached a verdict I thought “Not Guilty”, just because someone gets jealous, with reasons may I add, or even controlling, that doesn’t mean he’s guilty. I’m not convinced, even with the search history it sounds more like framed.

@@nancycalderon188 I can't believe they took her lovers word for it. He worked on the farm and probably had access to the house, devices etc. His alibi was from his child. Who wouldn't be tempted lie for their dad? So much doubt. SMH

The lover had a stronger motive for wanting her dead, she had become a liability to him and he obviously knew from conversations with her that the husband was jealous and could be set up! Who knows what really happened, but I definitely don’t think this was a fair trial 😞

Brutal. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a case with more reasonable doubt. Even the supposed motive was super weak. This women cheated on this guy a million times and he took her back, yet THIS time he was going to lose the farm. Lol she was afraid of him? Yet did he ever abuse her or do wrong by her? I think most women would be afraid if they are cheating on their husbands religiously. And by afraid I mean afraid of being caught.

Very good points. If she had reason to fear him then why would she provoke him by cheating? That doesn't seem logical. I've never heard of a woman in a relationship with an abusive man go off and cheat on him. Violent people are already provoked by so much less.

If there were bruises only straight on her knees, her palms, and her chin… it was definitely an accidental fall where she landed on her knees and palms, and smashed her chin when falling flat. When there is a struggle, there are alwaya irregularly placed wounds and blunt force trauma bruises. This was clean-cut and obviously an accidental fall, and I’m shocked that the cops or the “autopsy professional” can’t even figure that out.

and his own lawyer says that the woman was ruthlessly and viciously MURDERED!! omg... he didnt have a chance. and then the judge doesnt give him a new trial. its just not fair. These people are sick that convicted him and took joy in it. They know damn well he didnt do it but all they care about is winning.
