I wish I could offer up support on how to get your diagnosis corrected but I'm in the US. I know from my experience in dealing with doctors as a woman with CPTSD that I could not get the help I needed for a proper diagnosis for autism evaluation until I found my general practitioner, or primary care physician. She was already very well versed in how women are often miss diagnosed when they are in fact autistic and not bipolar or have BPD. She did not feel I was either and considering ASD runs in my family she found my work place and interpersonal relationship challenges aligned with ASD. Just in having appointments with me she could tell I was neurodivergent. So she noted these things down which did help speed a formal autism diagnosis along. So I would recommend having a primary care who can advocate for you and it's likely you will need to have the psychologist/neurologist write a letter explaining why they feel the initial diagnosis is not correct and see what this original doctor says and if they are willing to change things in your chart so when you go into hospital it's not there any more. I do not know if perhaps you can ask the hospital you prefer to go to TO NOT have that in your patient chart at least. I know in NY in the USA I can keep certain medical records from my PCP or from the hospital or add specific things. Like I needed to have it added that due to medical trauma and sensory issues I really need an ultrasound machine to receive an IV. This was added at my behest. But I think a good first start is to have a primary care doctor who will listen to you and advocate for you to be identified as having these health concerns vs. the miss diagnosis. Offer up a solution that you'd be willing to have another evaluation and have the evaluator review the notes for your autism evaluation. I do want to say you are not alone. Several conditions can overlap with ASD and unfortunately when you're a woman male doctors sin particular jump to another mental health thing. But there are some sure signs that a woman is on the spectrum vs. has bipolar disorder, BPD, schizophrenia, ADHD etc. and you can also have co-occurring conditions simply because of how autistic brains work. Like ADHD is very common to co-occur with ASD to some degree as well as CPTSD. I can see how a doctor would view a autistic melt down or an accumulation of trauma due to the symptoms of autism as being similar to BPD but there are so many core differences. Like you can have abandonment issues because you can't read people and you keep offending them and so they just get fed up with you and leave. So naturally you get scared they will leave you again so you just push people away. I know I can't read deceit. I literally can be manipulated in any which way and so as a result I had to teach myself to track facts, evidence, actions, read the energy or vibe of a person, etc. because I do not know their intentions and it's lead to a lot of hurt and suffering. Anyway I just wanted to comment really so you'd know you are not alone. :)I hope you can get your diagnosis sorted out easily. Best of luck!

Hi, firstly I'm sorry its taken me a bit longer than I'd like to respond, I had videos scheduled to go up but was taking a short break and therefore not replying to comments. Here in the UK it's a bit different due to having the free healthcare. I believe that's the reason anyway. Everything gets sent to your GP including past, present and current diagnoses. It's annoying because you never fully have control. In our records, here in the UK there's many sections for one person that spread out past diagnoses, like for example if you had a UTI but are better from it, that would be present or current for a while and then switch to past history. But for conditions such as many mental health conditions they are seen as a life-long condition from the moment they are diagnosed and therefore would never switch to being a past diagnosis unless someone challenges it. Therefore I'm having to ring up and speak to the mental health team, which I am currently discharged from and ask them to revaluate me to see if BPD is correct or if it was indeed misdiagnosed. It's a lot of effort. Would you be interested in watching a video (if I made one) all about this process? I know it would be different as it's a different country but just thought I'd ask. I hope you're doing well, Please remember that I believe in your, even if nobody else does, Deeanna :)
