Well, earlier I worked as a kindergardenteacher and I think its totally right that you went and picked up Simon, kids (and adults) should went/stay home if they throughs up, even if its only one time and feels better after. Because of it may still is a risk to it to spread to others.

I used to be a preschool teacher, and I agree with others here that sending Simon home was the right call. I know it's super frustrating for a parent to have to come pick up their child when they seem fine, but schools can't take risks with the health of their students and staff. Better safe than sorry! I hope Simon felt better the rest of the day.

Simon doesn’t seem sick at all. But we also had similar experiences with daycare that they said my Son was running a fever when we checked him at home he didn’t had a fever at all and didn’t seem sick either. What can you do as parents and just pick them up. So nice of Ezras therapist to come with you.

Ive had experiences myself of my 3 year old being sent home for seemingly no reason or for reasons that are unbelievable. 'sickness' seems to be a top choice but when he is picked up, he is never sick. it's heartbreaking to be able to read the situation for what it actually is. he was diagnosed with severe autism. i told the school i would love to volunteer to help with him in the classroom here and there and show them what i have learned in our journey and gotten no response. i use to work at the preschool in a different location so i know volunteers are welcomed. i spoke to our social worker at the school and he will be given a behavioral specialist in the future but still no word on me attending and helping them with what i know. its frustrating and disappointing. we know our kids more than anyone.. aside from his condition he is very healthy and hardly sick. but i pick him up anyways because i would never make him stay in an environment that 'cant' have him there. i have quit my job to be available for him always, apparently its a good thing too.

So sorry you had this experience ❤️. That would be incredibly frustrating. It sounds like you’re doing the right things though, trying to be as involved as you can be in your kiddos education. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of politics as well in schools that can make things difficult. My love, and many blessings for you and your little guy to get the best possible situation worked out. Let us know if there’s anything we can do to help ❤️.

Was this Simon's first time in preschool? potentially he could've been homesick. Maybe there was a change that disrupted his schedule, and he vomited. Check with the teacher how Simon was before he vomited she could've seen signs. She might be aware of something you might not be aware of.

Well I am so glad that he's feeling better. Also, why was he touching Ezra's device just a question because I saw I mean maybe he was curious about the buttons but typically that is private to Ezra so maybe you know books or something else might occupy Simon, On Amazon I did see this sensory tiles, and I thought maybe Simon would love to use those because he can step on them, and they move around, and I thought that would be a really good thing for him! Also, can Ezra brush his teeth yet if he cannot, there is a site called my sensory space and they have the sensory toothbrushes and apparently they don't make people gag or anything so maybe that might help him
@7Aheadfamily
@7Aheadfamily 6 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for those ideas. We will look into the site about brushing teeth. Ezra doesn't like to brush his teeth very much. Also, We let Simon watch videos on Ezra's device when Ezra is using it to watch videos. So they are used to sharing it. But Simon knows it is Ezra's. - I will have to look up sensory tileso n Amazon. Thanks - Holly

Maybe Simon was constipated. Sometimes when kids around that age are in the middle of toilet training they will get confused and think that they are not supposed to poop at all instead of knowing to just poop in the potty or toilet. This will sometimes cause them to become constipated. Occasionally this will resolve itself when nausea and vomiting occur. The exertion associated with this can sometimes trigger a poop accident which in turn resolves the issue. Maybe that’s what happened here. If so, that might explain why Simon felt better so quickly.

As a daycare worker, if a child throws up or is sick they need to go home! Otherwise you risk an outbreak that can affect the other children and staff. If staff get a contagious illness then the crèche might have to close.
