Sick sleeves is Brilliant!!!! Totally a Shark Tank Worthy Idea!!! Don’t like that Ezra is in pain. Hope my little brother feels better. You got this!!! Runny Noses: Mucus relief medicine for temporary relief, Vicks vapor rub, humidifier, hot tubs or place with steam, shower or maybe a warm bowl of soup. (One with steam) In Ezra’s case, best idea would be a place that is warm/has steam.

We use wet tissues for runny noses! Squeeze them a little bit to drain most of the moisture and then we can actually clean the nose! Works wonders. We tried regular tissues and it was always a fight. No fight at all with wet tissues. The ones we have are like water wipes, but with almond oil. Keeps the skin around the nose happy for as long as possible. 🎉 Love those sick sleeves. Will try that next time!

I do the same as Ezra, I can't blow my nose (too hard on me with my sensory issues). I've found out that wiping it on a shirt or a piece of fabric wipes it better then using my wrist. (That could explain why he wipes his nose less with a long sleeve shirt on.) So, I always used my shirts when I was younger. Now, I try to wipe my nose with tissues since I'm older but, I still use my shirt from time to time so I always make sure to wash whatever shirt I wore while being sick (I won't change my shirt while I'm sick so, I might be wearing the same shirt for a couple of days since I don't want to wipe my nose on different shirts) as soon as I get better and change out of it.
@7Aheadfamily

My kids are prone to ear infections from all the congestion and runny noses. Something that helps keep it from turning into that by drying up all the snot and would probably help Ezera too if he’ll take some is allergy medicine like Zyrtec. My Pediatrician suggested it for us and it’s been one of the best suggestions. I go straight for the Zyrtec now along with whatever else they might need when sick like cough syrup or Motrin and it really makes a difference.

My sister and I both wiped our noses in the same way that Ezra does here when we were younger and had runny noses. From my own recollections I remember that the reason that I wiped my nose less when wearing shirts made of material like this is that it’s more absorbent. Therefore less wiping is needed. On the subject of the material being more absorbent there are several other uses of this material that you might consider for Ezra. 1. For long car rides (e.g. to relatives houses) you could consider using material like this to make some cloth diapers for Ezra if he has not finished toilet training before you visit relatives next time. This should wick much of the moisture away from his skin while still allowing him to feel wet (A disposable might be too dry to help with training in situations like this. He might wet without realizing it at the time.). Along with some plastic pants in his size this might work fairly well. 2. For shorter car rides where he would not be diapered you could put some absorbent material like this underneath him (and something plastic under that) and if you use enough of the material it should hopefully be able to hold up well enough to any accidents that he might have. My mother typically used folded bath towels or old sweatshirts for situations like this (even as late as when I was four, five or six years old) but this idea should also work. As long as his seat belt still fits properly it should (I hope) still be safe to do this. 3. You could make Ezra some pairs of pants out of the material. This could be useful for outdoor projects or other outdoor activities (like the fence building project that I mentioned in some earlier posts) Other outdoor projects include helping to plant a small tree or bush or helping to build a birdhouse (for example). In these situations Ezra can focus on a project like this with either you or your husband (for example) without having to be overly concerned about making it to the toilet. Obviously take him to the toilet if he indicates by signing (or some other method) that he wants to use it. Otherwise, should a wetting accident occur (considering the outdoor setting) it will be no big deal. The material should do a good job of wicking most of the moisture away from his skin while allowing him to both see and feel that his bladder has voided. If the other kind of accident happens this is where having extra pants made of the same absorbent material that he can change into can be helpful. In the long run this can help him to learn some new skills while also becoming more aware of what his body is doing (which should help with his toilet training in the long run). From what I recall this helped me when I was younger over the course of (I think) about a year or so. These are all of the suggestions that I have for now.

So glad to see little Ezra looking a little more lively, the difference while he's been poorly has definitely been noticeable. I feel for the poor little guy blocked and runny noses are a nightmare, as gross as it is because I hate the roughness of most material on my nose I tend to do the grossest thing ever and like snort it back up , like I will suddenly sniff really really hard and it goes down the back of my throat which is also unpleasant and often leads me to choke or gag but ive done it since young and more a subconscious thing that I don't realise I'm doing till I've done it...but I hate blowing my nose all material is just too tough on my nose and I'm yet to find something that dosent make my nose sore and red and cause more of a problem later down the line 😅 I don't know if that's a good suggestion but that's genuinely how I deal with it, love these sleeve ideas maybe will try it next time I have a cold.... though my partner says it probably makes me sicker for longer because I'm keeping all the stuff my body wants out inside by snorting it back into my lungs but dunno if that's true, to be fair whenever I get sick it's always for a longer time than he is even with the same illness so there could be some truth to that. Sorry I know that's gross. 😅 Hope you won't need the sleeves for long and he is back to feeling tip top soon.
