I read the book entitled "The Best Kind of Different." Shonda Schilling did a beautiful job in describing her experience with raising an autistic child (Grant). I was diagnosed with Asperger's at the age of 44 since no one really knew anything about this form of autism when I was a child.

(Disclaimer: I am only a self-diagnosed "probably" Aspergian) When I'm shaking hands, I've noticed that I'll stare down at our hands, instead of looking the person in the eye, as is more normal. Working on that!

I'm wondering if there is a conscious decision behind every time there is a handshake in these videos to make a subjective camera shot, in that the camera is focussing on the handshake to make it known that people on the autism spectrum dont necessarily have problems with physical interactions?

Can I like a page on Face book and get the new episodes as they come out that way? I use Facebook for many other info gathering and chat applications. Thank you. ~ Aspie Mama

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that the point of the book - a mother's experience?
