Autism: Tips For Kids That Struggle With Motivation
Motivating kids with Autism can be challenging. There are certain aspects of being a kid that can make it difficult. Things like why is doing well at school important? Here are some tips and things we have found helpful for us.
My name is Falene and I am the mother of 4 boys. 2 of my boys have been diagnosed with autism. I want to share my experiences with you and hopefully help those who struggling due to having someone in their life with Autism.

Hi! I just found your videos. Our 11 year old son was diagnosed in February after years of being misdiagnosed and doctors disagreeing with each other. We are in the beginning stages of applying for SSI. (Totally overwhelming!) I just have a question and then some topics for videos I would love have your opinion on! First, our son is considered to be "high functioning", and I was wondering where your children are on the spectrum? I would love to know your comments/thoughts/suggestions to the following autism issues that we face: 1. Judgement from public 2. Defiance and Disrespect in regards to autism 3. Calming techniques for meltdowns, bad days, or just emotional times. Thank you so much for the videos you've made!

Hi Jackie :) I love the ideas that you have suggested for video topics. We are in the middle of moving right now and that's why I have been so negligent on my videos. So we have 4 kids ( all boys) total. My oldest son is 9 and when he first got his diagnosis he was considered moderate, borderline severe due to his being non-verbal mostly along with ADHD. Our 2nd child is 8 and he was diagnosed with high functioning Autism with ODD (oppositional defiant disorder) and ADHD characteristics. Our 3rd child is 6 and does NOT have autism, but he does have clinical levels of Anxiety, ADHD, and ODD. Our 4th child is about to turn 2 and is so far not displaying any signs other than being neuro-typical. Some might say he is the weird one in the family,LOL. There are several other moms in my support group that have been through a similar path as you and it is very frustrating.
