Thank you so much for the demonstration. I had a rough time yesterday getting my chest ascender and my Petzl rig caught up together and it was challenging getting the chest ascender off the rope so that I could descend. This set up you show is perfect. I knew there had to be a better way to climb up the tree than the way I was. God bless you sir

Hi Dave, great video. Can you give me some advice of the pros and cons of these 4 device? Also a small overall recommendation of the different SRT systems you sell (as I saw some other options that you sell also) in terms of simplicity, reliability, multifuntionality and cost effectiveness? The only SRT device I have used is the Petzl RIG, cause we use it a lot on Tower Climbing and also we use it a lot in stage rigging. So the RIG will be an advantage for me because I can use it also on these other industries I work, but I'm not sure if it is (the RIG/RAD, etc) the best overall SRT system. What are your thoughts on these? Thank you.

Which device would be best to use to traverse with the captain hook ?would the I'd small work or would u just use a eccentric and a hitch cord?
@WesSpurTreeEquipment Жыл бұрын
Hey Arian, there's really no such thing as 'best' in this case, you just have to pick what works for you. Budget, space in your gear bag, etc. . There are several options. Hitch kit, Gri-gri, progress capture pulley all would work.

is this device the same as a mechanical prusik?
@wesspurit40364 жыл бұрын
Not really, that would be more like the Petzl Zigzag (www.wesspur.com/items/asc198.html). These autobraking devices function as a work positioning device, descent control device and as part of a system a progress capture on ascent. The rope is bent around a moving cam that presses against the rope. When the handle is actuated, it allows the user to pay out rope or descend under control. Many of the devices have an override if the user "panics" on descent.

Hi Robert, it depends a lot on the application, and what features you require. If you are doing general tree work, then the Viking is hard to beat for price and comfort. www.wesspur.com/items/sad124.html If you contact customer service they can definitely help you find an affordable option that meets your needs. weborders@wesspur.com 800-268-2141. Are these ok to use with 3 strands breaded rope?
@WesSpurTreeEquipment3 жыл бұрын
No, the knubby texture of a three strand rope would provide inconsistent contact with the device. These are designed for use on modern braided ropes, such as kernmantles. See this page for some good choices: www.wesspur.com/rope/srs-rope-for-stationary-rope-systems.html
