I was a deckhand on tugboats doing dredge work. My boat was specifically assigned to assisting a bullgang. And while having 4 tugboats and 3 barges holding up a joint of pipe with a welder sitting off the edge of the boat welding under the pipe. I could see this being pretty useful to him 😂 since you not only have to watch the pipe swinging but the boats and barges bumping into eachother as well All while hes in between that shit

@rileymannion5301 oh no i completely agree 🤣 theres not enough dredge welders working on floated pipe for that to even be a market. I just think it could be useful in that specific situation. Theres a reason they all ran old sugar scoops. You cant break them and they work

I had this helmet a few years. Worked great until i cracked the sensor one day while i was changing the front large lense, it dropped amd it was toast. Worst part about it is good luck finding parts for it. I couldn't so i trashed it

Yeah but how easy is it to find cover lenses and to buy them. Along with cost. Bought an eastwood a couple years ago and loved it….until I had to change the outer protective lenses. They were bigger than millers and THINNER. They dont sell them in any welding supply store, you have to order them online IF they have them in stock, AND you have to wait like two weeks or however long to ship, along with shipping fees. I sold that hood probably a month later. I weld everyday for a living and I need my hood to be reliable and everything on easy to replace and available at welding supplys so i can get it within the week. Thats why I like esab.

What is the purpose of the panoramic? Looks like nuisance to me. A pancake or sugar scoop with a flip up solar lense is all you’ll ever need. Nothing beats an old school.
