JUNE is not a good company. I don't know if their disc is a private label like their cup, however I encourage folks to stop supporting this company simply because it's cheap. I take a lot of issues with how they've hidden and outright lied about their cup being the same model sold on Alibaba (now it has a logo on it but it's still a private label cup shape) and how they took the Covid-19 pandemic and used it as a marketing opportunity. I could write a novel but please look for a reputable company to support with your money. It does not have to be a disc sold on my store (period.shop) just not that "brand." I don't expect the average consumer to know any of these facts but I wanted to share in case that is something important to you.

I love my menstrual cups. For years I've used the Softcup from Walgreens. Then last year I saw The Flex cup on the shelf & bought that as well. I love both & can't tell the difference btw them. I wear a glove to insert, clean & remove them. I use 1disc per menstrual cycyle while cleaning it in between by dumping it, & rinsing it w/water & reinserting it. All this time I have been removing, cleaning it & reinserting it everytime it would leak in the toilet. I thought I was leaking & never knew it was autodumping. So this is a huge blessing to learn about. I find that the disc stays in place for hours & I don't usually leak. Sometimes I do find that I start leaking when I am forming a clot. I can tell from the pain a clot is coming. Then I spot & start leaking. It seems that the clot blood escapes the disc & starts to run out of it so I leak. When I sit on the toilet & remove the disc, I find that I can see the clot in the disc. So that is something I am wondering about. I use to feel like the clot would escape the disc & I would pee it out when I am on the toilet. But that doesn't happen anymore. So that's my experience w/the wonderful discs. I now will see if the autodumping is enough when I go to the toilet, or if I will continue to rinse & reinsert everytime it does.

Is it possible that I can’t get it to “tuck behind the pubic bone”? I just doesn’t TUCK, I can feel my pubic “ledge” but it slides right down. Do you know how to troubleshoot that? Thank you!!

KZbin ate my comment, this keeps happening! I wanted to say that this was an issue I had early on when trying discs. I figured out that for me it was my timidness. Once I really, really tucked and stopped being nervous and pushing too high it stopped the slipping. If that isn't the issue and it continues to slip it's possible the diameter is too wide for you and this causes it to not tuck well and "spring" out of place then slip. The only brand that makes smaller sized discs is Lumma at the moment.

Some discs like ziggy have this problem more than others. I imagine it’s the shape, but I’m not certain. If you can I would try another cup, maybe even a smaller lumma disc size

We tuck it as soon as it is pushed in vagina? Downwards first? Sorry been at this for 2 days. I got it where no blood coming out, but one cough that's it!

Will the autodump happen when doing certain workouts?
@kristamahon93383 жыл бұрын
My disc empties when I get out of the car or from sitting positions. Does that mean I need a bigger one? I do like it empties in the toilet but even so sometimes it doesn’t fit back onto the pelvic bone

Thanks for explaining this so well! A follow-up question: If the auto dump is basically a result of a non-perfect fit, would that mean that if I can auto dump, it is also more likely to have leaks during sex?
@hannahm.9881 Жыл бұрын
Not really in my experience. I always dump my disc before sex. But I suppose if your cup was super full it could be a problem
@sarahcollins033 жыл бұрын
How will it not auto dump when you sit regularly (not on the toilet) I do not understand this at all 🧐
@i_lily3 жыл бұрын
Auto-dump only happens when you use your pelvic muscles in the sitting position. So when you do #2 and even #1 you're using muscles that dislodge the disk a bit and have it auto-dump. I suppose that you might use those muscles at other times as well in a squatting position but those would be rare cases.

What about working out? I’m imagining squatting or being in some similar position working out hard with force…and I’m going to be leaking all over?

It usually only happens if you're straining (going number 1 or 2)

What they said! It's a combo of positioning and straining (from what I experience and have heard!)

what about during heavy lifting/squats/yoga/yogi squats? im considering discs because I was using the cup until I recently got an iud and I am reading discs are less likely to suction out the IUD
@lizp9518 Жыл бұрын
Hi, I have the same question. I lift heavy (lower and upper body). Has anyone answered your question or have you tried lifting with a disc? If so, what was your experience?
@baby.jaeeee Жыл бұрын
@@lizp9518 hi!! So I decided to try it and I love it! It’s given no problems during workouts, swimming, sex etc. It took a few cycles to get comfortable with it, and I wear period underwear just incase still. On my heaviest days (which are heavy with the copper IUD) I find it doesnt leak for up to 6 hours

Every since I had my daughter my cup has started to leak. Never once leaked the 4+ years I used it before pregnancy.. I’ve tried bigger sizes, different brands, low cervix to no avail. I’m been messing around with the disc, the single use ones worked first cycle and had no autodumping, but I’ve been struggling with the reusable ones. They don’t want to stay tucked. I don’t fully trust the discs yet and usually only wear them when I’m at home. I dislike the auto dumping as I can’t tell if it’s going to continue to leak afterwards.
@whitneyrickim Жыл бұрын
Hi Kim, I have a question for you since you are an experienced disc user. I just had my first cycle using the disc and found it to be mostly great with minimal leaks. I was able to easily auto-dump while using the restroom just by bearing down a bit, as the instructions said. If just being in the sitting position and bearing down causes the dump, is there a risk of leaks while doing other things? Say yoga or swimming where you might be in different positions, physically exerting yourself, etc. So far I’ve only worn the disk on days I’m at home, while I get used to it. I’m nervous about having a huge leak while I’m out! For this same reason I find it hard to believe the disc can offer “mess free period sex,” though I’m not too concerned about that 😂 Thank you for all your great videos!!

@PeriodNirvana3 жыл бұрын
Oh yikes. It could be too large a diameter which causes it to displace. Usually being too large or too small is a factor in autodumping.

I was terrified to use any type of cup because like I am sure lots of people, I honestly was afraid of it getting stuck. I finally have given in starting last night and I was impressed didn't leak at all then today again and in trying to make sure it was still up there, I experienced the auto dump and semi-freaked out. Now I feel better because I know that that is. LOL I will say it felt like a murder scene this morning and I not knowing about the auto dump stood up a little and yeah......But pain-free for sure and I think I am panicking a bit so I didn't go a full 12 hours more like 7 but, I think that was just my overthinking and subconsciously thinking it was leaking! So far so good! thanks for this video!

What about the possibility of auto dumping during strenuous exercise? I play a lot of volleyball in addition to my workouts and dance (inverted poses and all that), wouldn’t it be possible to trigger an auto dump during any of those things?
@cassaleelee Жыл бұрын
It's very specific to the muscles you generally only use to bear down to pee or poop. The only time I've ever otherwise felt those muscles engage is when using strong force during an extended chore, like bearing down to push something into a box that won't fit. Those muscles don't get used during dancing or sports that I've ever noticed. They have a very focused "job."
@jordanhart25003 жыл бұрын
If you sometimes pee when you sneeze will that cause an autodump too?

I'm currently using a small-sized menstrual cup and planning to switch to disc. Question: What size would you recommend for me to get the auto-dump feature?
@PeriodNirvana3 жыл бұрын
That's really hard to predict. I would base the size on your cervix height and then see what happens :)
@Boms11253 жыл бұрын
I've tried three different cups before I found Ziggy disk. It fits me nicely and I have no leaking at all, unlike with the cups. Auto dumping is its best feature. I do however wonder if it it tilting at the front or the back or side, because mine sits so far behind the pubic bone.

Asking because of the similar positioning, but will it dump if I’m squatting at the gym? Just seems scarily similar to going to the bathroom.

Question for anyone perusing the comments still lol, with a cup it stops the blood from being super oxidized quickly and that helps a lot with odour. Does this auto dump feature not introduce that issue? Thanks!

Do people still need to wear pantiliners while wearing a disc? I’m just trying one for the first time and towards the end of my period so not very heavy but still seem to get spotting on my pantiliner. I’m unsure if this is the auto dump or it’s leaking from poor fitting

I love your videos and think its so cool that you're so open to talk about all this girl stuff! I want to buy a reusable disk ( I tried the Flex disk and loved it) my question is, what disk do you prefer? Nixit or Lumma? And why? Maybe u could make a video on comparing the 2?? 🤔❤
@PeriodNirvana3 жыл бұрын
I did a video comparing those before I left Put A Cup In It so there’s a good video on it. I’m sure I’ll tackle it here once we have some more disc options on the market. I like Lumma because the rim is firm but Nixit is a way better quality product. Nixit has a softer rim.

Okay, so I have a question… What if you’re on top during PIV and bearing down? Especially if you’re in a squat position vs knees on bed? Wouldn’t that trigger the auto-dump? 😬

Okay so I use the nixit and I love it so much. But I have a question wondering if anyone has had this happen to them. When I go to insert it I immediately have cramping happening. Almost like if I need to pass gas? As soon as I take it out it goes away. Now, the cramping isn't persistent but I do notice it a lot throughout the day and it's more than my regular period cramps. I noticed she said the open part has to go towards you. Could I be trapping in air because I tend to squeeze it as I insert which means the open part isn't going towards me. Sorry I hope I make sense
@PeriodNirvana4 жыл бұрын
Your description makes sense... the way discs work is that they don't suction so in theory, even if there is air introduced, it seems to me it shouldn't trap it and cause pain. I'm thinking out loud I guess... it's not an issue I've heard of yet! My advice would be to reach out to Nixit and ask their team, I'm guessing they may have some advice to share!
@christalcavanaugh4 жыл бұрын
Something I’ve heard is that some people have pushed the disc back against the cervix instead of catching it in the disc and that can cause discomfort. That might be something to think about when inserting the disc
@nakedperfectionspa20992 жыл бұрын
sounds like some sort of pressure almost similar to additional cramping from tampons.

The first t8me I tried my disc the other day, this auto d7mp thing seemed to have happened. I hadn’t heard of it so that was weird, I thought how could it be so loose? I couldn’t feel it inside so I thought it was in the right spot? BUT then when I took it out the inside bowl part was empty and not bloody, so how tf did this happen? If it was in the wrong place all along how come I didn’t leak all the time it was in? I’m still confused.

So I’m like super heavy the first few days of my flow I’m not sure what will be better for me I’m scared for the disc But the auto leak sounds pretty cool but the cup was saying no leaks so I’m not sure I’m working where I have to stand for no more than 7-8 hours I was going to just use it for work then switch to pads when I’m off but I seen many different reviews plus saving hundreds of dollars vs spending that much on the disposal pads I don’t use tampons because they won’t help me I have pcos and I heard that tampons wouldn’t be good to use specially being heavy as I am
