Given driver distance has been maxed for years I find it amusing people still don’t mind buying a new driver for 500 believing it will help but a shaft with proven results is seen as excessive. Any club with that kind of distance gain would sell. I have an autoflex, and saw similar results in trackman. It’s a fantastic product if you fit it well.

@@bluragclk Adam Scott gamed this for a couple tournaments and bailed on it. Kuch and others tried it and hated it.....I love it and have tested it with PGA guys.....its real. trackman backs it up.....course backs it up......4-5MPH faster swing to all who try it.....tighter spray......the only ones that don't get that response are those that don't bother getting the swing weight to a d0-d1 which is a must or it throws off the kick point. It comes with these instructions but even the great Rick Sheilds didn't bother to do before he trashed it. Watch the TXG guys.....they are who I heard about it from and got one from the company before it was "available" and its been in my bag EVER SINCE. My Ventus Velacore, (on a sim2 max) at $500.00 gained me 20+ yards and that was hard to justify but yeah that is a celling for shaft price imho. so now after spending $1300.00 on shaft you have to get an additional swing fitting for $175.00-$200.00 so that they can weighted to get its potential unleashed ?? again to some its an acceptable trade off to others not so much

Love mine. Added 25 yards and I hit most fairways. You have to adjust to it. Do not expect it to be like your other shafts. You have to be smooth about it. The benefits are awesome.

Currently I'm playing the 405 since my swing speed is about 90 to 95 miles per hour.. With the Callaway rogue ST LS head, I have found more fairways and gained about 20 yards. I also have a 505 that I'm thinking might go great in my tm stealth plus 3 wood. The only caveat about this shaft is you need to have a smooth swing and give it a chance... getting used to the whippiness is the key. A close friend of mine has the 505X and bombs it. He's coming from a ventus TR shaft. Great review as always Matt.
@grahambartsch31952 жыл бұрын
On year two of the 505X in my driver. Had it on a Cobra Rad Speed XD, and moved it into the new LTD-X. The lighter clubhead made that combo, for me, a rocket launcher. Figured the AF would be a good shaft system to "grow old with", being 53 now.. still getting great club/ball speed, and outdriving a Buch of playing partners that are significantly younger than me, much to their chagrin :-) Loved the AF so much, I bit the bullet, and put the 505X fairway shaft into my Stealth + 3w, and yowsa, almost don't need a driver anymore ! Only downside is cost, not for the faint of heart, that's for sure, especially up here in Canada, add another 33% to that dollar figure!

I’ve had an Autoflex shaft for over a year and picked up significant carry distance AND hit it straighter. I’ve had lots of my friends try it and most picked up yardage. A couple of guys that didn’t see any gains put it directly into their present driver heads without checking swingweight. If you are playing a driver with a heavy head weight (like a Ping), your swingweight will be WAY off. When I checked one of the guys who put it onto a heavy headed driver AND cut the shaft down to 44.5 inches (the Autoflex shaft is designed to be played at 46 inches), the swingweight of his club with the Autoflex shaft was C1! No wonder he couldn’t hit it! If you want this shaft to work optimally, you need to make sure you get it into a swingweight range of D0 to D3ish. Either by changing grip weight or changing clubhead weight!
@emos3212 жыл бұрын
I play a stock weighted g425 max head, with a sf405 at 46 inches with an align grip. Mine is at D5. I crush it. If your tempo is fast you could struggle with this shaft. Be smooth in the transition and feel the load. Then boom as hard as you want.

The most crucial part to an AutoFlex shaft fitting is the swing weight. For the SF505X, the swing weight can be no heavier then D2. D1 is ideal. The lighter the shaft, the lighter the swing weight.. My club head speed is only 95-100, so I imagine that the shaft they'd recommend for me might be even more whippy than that one. I usually like the stiffer shafts so I wonder how hard it is to get use to slowing the swing down (not really, just swinging easier) and playing the flex. That's a lot of money for a few extra yards so I'll just practice my chips and work on eliminating the 3-putts!

it automatically loads the shaft to how you swing, most shafts have a specific bent point, ranging from low , low-mid, mid, mid-high and high. If you load the shaft at a low point and have a high loading shaft the shaft isn't designed for your swing. The autoflex automatically loads the shaft to your loading zone without you changing any aspect of your swing. However as mentioned you do have to play around with the swing weights most of the complaints from this shaft is from people who plug in straight in their shafts without doing any adjustments and expect it to hit straight bombs without doing any homework.
