Hi sir... I don't know when will I get the confidence level that u have. Here if some problem come then tention is building up rushing for manuals assembling the tools going up and down so much preparation .....bt u simply picking up your camera with a simple smile and going , it look like u already trouble shouted the problem. its looks easy but it is vry hard brozss to take trouble shouting vedios in real working environment. it's like a impossible task . I don't think any person can do like u do. It is ultra very simple no gossips any nationality with avg English and avg electrical knowledge can catch up with u. Keep going sir❤ Need to watch more vedios from u

Leckyjake, the same happened to our Boiler Control panel. The input terminal on its plc for auto start/stop of the feed water pump doesn't light as well. I had fun troubleshooting the problem with our electrician and learning reading wiring diagram. And I must say, it's always satisfying to nail down a trouble up to its root. Great video as always, all the best.

Rather than starting the troubleshooting of the saw all the way from the 440 input, wouldn't it have been faster to start near the middle (say, output of the 24V transformer) and then move up or down depending on whether it had power?
@leckyjake3 жыл бұрын
This is the conventional way of my troubleshooting which I apply in all machineries on board. It just happened that this is a simple circuit. I am sharing to everyone this kind of technique which will be effective also for complex circuits such as the boilers, generators and other big machineries. A practice that you will not get lost unlike if you start from the middle of the circuit.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. But regarding auto pilot power fail can you explain more why after checking the led indicator no 14 not on you decide to request for service technician?
@leckyjake3 жыл бұрын
It was not just the LED that lead to the request, it was the opposite function that the BWMS is giving. It should be the other way, that if the contact is closed then the alarm should not appear and if the contact is open then the alarm should be activated. BWMS is the AMS for the bridge equipment in which to request for service with the right spare is more practical than ordering and not sure if the spare will be delivered on time or if it will be the correct spare.

Hey leck can you please put a video for changing and proper procedure different types of compressor of reefers!! Looking forward to sail with u one day!!
@shyster7173 жыл бұрын
Yeah, in this case he has to have a specific problem with a specific compressor. Believe it or not, I am an ETO for 15 years and last year I had the first time problem with a piston blue compressor for carrier :-) and it was a big surprise for we had a compressor with 2 sets of terminals...it was on board but completely useless....we lost 6 hours to transport it to the cargo hold only to discover that we will have to use another one...

As an electrician do not use the Fluke 179 as an electrical test instrument, it will not clear the shortcut of 230v it cud access over 1000v... use a Fluke T150 instead.

Jake , Regarding the AUTOPILOT FAIL ALARM which you identified as DI14 ,when you OPEN digital input 14 (DI14) by disconnecting the wires - the ALARM cleared. And then when you installed a small piece of wire across DI14, the ALARM occured again but the LED indication did not switch ON.....These means the PLC input DI14 is still reading ok, the only problem is the busted tiny LED indication....I agree with you that this input module needs to be replaced because of the busted LED, but after installing the new module DI14 will still be CLOSED, that means you still have the AUTO PILOT ALARM......you need to investigate why DI14 is CLOSED to solve the problem, right?????
@geraldbalbaneda83353 жыл бұрын
Hi Jake after your investigation, what did you find that is causing a CLOSED contact across DI14 ????/
@Biginjapan852 жыл бұрын
I can't tell from the drawing however the alarm input from the auto pilot should be N/C (normally closed). When he opens the contact the alarm clears this is the wrong way around as it would mean if you had a cable break / fuse blow you wouldn't ever know.
