Thanks for comparing MixEffect with the Rodecaster Video! With regards to pausing VFA when using manual cuts, you can specify certain input sources within each VFA trigger to prevent auto-switching. Now, this wouldn't have worked with your three cameras, but if you had a fourth, screen share, or other input source you wanted to cut to and hold, you can do this via MixEffect. VFA in MixEffect also allows you to set how long you want to hold before allowing another VFA trigger to run.

@@gamerfirst238 Switcher needs to support Fairlight audio. Older ATEM switchers that don’t will not support VFA.

​ @AudioHotline Cani i connect the SAME pc that i control the "RODECaster Video" with through the HDMI for it to be another video input? Or do i need another PC for like web, slides and general things? I only want to use 1 PC in the setup & have that PC show up as an HDMI input.

Great comparison. Very difficult to decide between the the RØDECaster Video vs ATEM Mini Pro ISO + RØDECaster DUO. I am planning on doing a Video Podcast and I think the RØDECaster Video would be great.

Thanks for making this video. Is It possible to make This work in my setup. I have 3 camera's with hdmi going into the atem extreme ISO. The Rodecaster pro 2 connects my microphones and I use a sound cable to export the sound from. The RCP into my ATEM extreme ISO. So This is a stereo sound and not a seperate one.

No, you'd need each audio channel sent separately into the ATEM to do the auto switching with the MixEffect app.

The single greatest improvement for the Rodecaster Auto Switching would be to add the ability to set the min and max seconds for a wide shot as an option, that seems to be a super easy fix and it would greatly improve the switching.

Adam's software demonstrates what an ATEM is capable of that for some unexplained reason BlackMagic Design has declined to take advantage of.

The problem with the ATEM is that you can’t send a mixed audio feed and to VFA right? If there a good way to send mics to both the mixer and ATEM?

@@michaelzavala Correct, you would need to send the mixing board audio as separate channels to the ATEM. You can do this by routing audio to the additional mic or embed into the HDMI/SDI inputs. You can still use VFA with disabled audio outputs.
