Nicely done, thank you. Seems like they've made it easier to do a professional stream without paying for Ecamm or Streamyard and without the learning curve of OBS.

Excellent description for exactly what I need. Being able to crop/scale on the fly is key because many slides waste valuable space with wide borders, and a 16:9 view of the presenter forces will either have to be tiny or make the slides too small. Too bad I had no idea about the Rodecaster and installed a Mini Pro ISO Extreme last week :(

Wish it had 1 but preferably 2 NDI inputs. I use the GoStream with the wide cam via NDI with POE so only one cable and the second cam like your drawing at the video table brought in via HDMI with the two Obsbot Tail Airs and the audio input(3 GoII’S, one paired and two into the RX and into the XLR on the Duo) via the RC Duo. I see your point with the mute of sources. I too am trying to get it the least amount of gear.

Hi Aaron! Very nice videos you make - have subscribed :) I have a question to this video and to what you explain from about 7 minutes into the video. Am I missing something here, but the setup and solution you described at the beginning -> how does the slides appear on the screen for the audience if you cannot route the signal out from the RØDECaster video? Could you use a HDMI splitter from the presenter's laptop?
@aaronpkАй бұрын
Yeah exactly, you could use an HDMI splitter of some sort up at the podium, to send one copy to the projector and another copy to the RØDECaster Video. A really useful device for this is the Decimator MD-HX since it can also take a variety of resolutions as the input and scale them to 1920x1080, and it can output a copy over SDI as well which is better for long cable runs.

Thank you very much for answering my question 😊👍🏼 Will definitely look into the Decimator 🙏🏼

Thank you for these videos on recording small conferences. I am in charge of the AV of our district Lion clubs and we are discussing streaming our meetings. I saw a video from NAB about the Blackmagic Design 2110 IP Presentation Converter and am curious if you have any information on it.
@aaronpkАй бұрын
That 2110 box looks really interesting, I see where they're going with it. But I suspect there's another missing piece to the picture that isn't released yet that will make it all come together in a really slick way.

Sir, Can you help me with using Pro Presenter with Rode Caster Video. The Stinger Transitions with Matte & Alpha channels.etc. and will time code from wireless Go2 Microphone work with Rode Caster Video ?. Awesome Video & Thanks :)

How were you able to conect the iPad to the Rodecaster Video? Ive had no luck with my iPad Pro.
@aaronpk10 күн бұрын
I'm just using a USB-C to HDMI adapter for the iPad, like I were connecting it to an external monitor
@Andreostudiophotocinema10 күн бұрын
@@aaronpk Hmmm. I cannot get the iPad to work using various Anker adapters, but it works when connected directly to a monitor or other devices. I think I'm going to have to use an AppleTV. Which model of iPad are you using?
@jrobe1429Ай бұрын
Why use the Duo and not the RCV for the audio input. Pairs two Rode TX units while the Duo does not. RCV has 1/4 line out for the in room speakers. One less device on the bike😂
@aaronpkАй бұрын
The main reason I'm thinking about pairing them is so I have physical controls for the audio. If the RCV supported Companion then I could get away with a couple buttons on the stream deck for muting and simple volume controls tho.

LOL I dont think you understand the definition of "issue" You have zero chance of getting 4k in a $1K switcher

Define "small conference".
@aaronpkАй бұрын
The number of people isn't really the important part, it's about how many cameras you need to cover the content and such. I thought this video did a good job in the introduction describing the type of conference I would use it for. Also, the ISO recording alone means it's more comparable to the ATEM Mini Pro ISO, which is $495 not $295.
@TheSeanBamptonАй бұрын
@@aaronpk Ok I understand your definition of small conference now. As for the price, the Rodecaster is still 2x the price of an ATEM Mini ISO, and it's not offering 2x the features or value.
@aaronpkАй бұрын
If you want custom layouts (ATEM's "SuperSource" feature), then the cheapest ATEM is the $1295 ATEM Mini Extreme ISO. The RØDECaster Video also has 6 video inputs, not just 4, so it's more comparable to the Extreme anyway. The layouts are really what make this stand out though because that kind of flexibility is really hard to do in the ATEM even when you do have the SuperSource feature. I'm doing a livestream in an hour and I'm going to explain more about the differences during the stream: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJKsdICXmrmrpM0
