Auto windows close in Mazda 626 GF and 6 GG

Update for 6 GG issue: It turns out the module in the car remembers drivers glass position and when the new module changes it, after power on and auto-close function, the window automatically opens half way (so called fail safe mode). 626 GF doesn't have this issue. Update and fix: Idle power consumption of the module is 7.5mA! Not a problem for most cars, but the 626 now has way too many modules so those 7.5mA as kind of a big problem. I was able to bring them down to 0 by adding a delay relay that cuts the power to this module 2 minutes after locking the car. Here is schematics for that: gitlab.com/metal03326/gf-chan...

Hello. Unfortunately I'm only an enthusiast and I own Mazda 626 GF and recently Mazda 2 DE. I have no knowledge of Honda. What I can tell you though is that this module does not support sunroof, even tough it claims it does. I believe I cover why in this video.

What I am curious about is that there is an auto up/down function on the side window of the driver. Is the connection method the same as the rear window? Unlike other windows, the window next to the driver operates on -signals. The + signal is transmitted from the module, so I wonder if there is another connection method. Did you understand?

On the Mazda 626 (and many other Mazdas) all 4 window motors get GND on both terminals and 12V is send instead of ground to one of the terminals when someone operates the switch. When operating driver side window, the module sends 12V so he can regulate Auto up/down feature. When operating other windows, buttons are actually purely mechanical and they disconnect the GND and pass 12V instead to desired direction.

No, that will overload the electrical system at some point. It is even written in the car's user manual, to open/close one window at a time only. I know you can close all of them manually, but there is a reason why the manufacturer say not to do it - it won't last much.

Do you have installation instructions with the module? If you so I really doubt I'll be able to explain them better :/ If you don't you'll need to figure out which wire is which, which requires a multimeter and module disassembly.

Instructions say only close. I can tell you you can do auto open as well on the 626, if you connect it properly. Unfortunately, only one of the two - you cannot open and close with the same module. You can add two units - one for open, one for close, but then you'll also need to think how to make sure they are not working at the same time (happens if you quickly lock and then unlock you car) as that will short the circuit.

Hi friend; thanks for your video. Could you help me? The module works apparently fine if I connect it as the diagram indicates, but after 3 or 4 times the fuse blows. I also tried installing the module with a relay but it never worked. Is it necessary or mandatory to connect the 4 windows or can I install only the driver and the passenger? ((I connect the passenger window to the cables on the rear of the driver to avoid delay) What could be the cause of the blown fuse? Thanks

What is the rating of the fuse? Usually it is way above what the motor should use, but in your case it may be change previously with smaller rating. About connecting less than 4 windows - it should work, you'll just have timeout between closing windows if not connected one after another. Order is driver window, rear window behind driver, passenger window and finally rear window behind passenger. If you connect only 2 windows in the place of the first 2 of the order you should be fine

These fuses seem too small. 5 amps is nothing, one of the smallest fuses in car industry and it is placed on a big consumption like motor - not good. Increase it. On the Mazda 626 the fuse for driver window is 20A and the fuse for all other windows is 30A. These are more appropriate for motors.

The windows go up automatically when the doors are opened (without activating the door lock). I tried several times and only once did they close when I activated the door lock. Check your trigger signal - it triggers the module at the wrong time. Use different trigger signal.

I dunno about your specific rollup module, but been using mine about 2yrs~, it will close the windows and than try a second time in case of any errors; that's why the extra clicks...... watching this as my car didn't originally have power windows; I installed a conversion kit, so I was able to do all the wiring inside under the dash:P; and am now planning to do up my newer car that has factory power windows so I wasn't sure how it was normally done on oem power windows ** I too sometimes have issues with the rear passenger window not closing on the first attempt; as I installed a conversion kit I think it might be due to that is the window with the longest wire length, this might be the same issue but in oem setup:P

Adding electric windows is a cool modification, congratulations! I do not know if your are now trying to add automatic close to 626 or 6, but if it is 6 then check my update in the description! I'm currently thinking if how to solve the issue. For now the most logical and easy thing is to trigger IG-OFF timer before activating the module for roll-up. I hope I make any sense :D

@@Mazda626GF neither, will be doing pontiac vibe 2009(toyota matrix); the trigger will be a 3rd party alarm system's arm lead..... especially since my experience was with non oem retrofits i get the concept it just a question of suggested methods people have tried before vs figuring things out from scratch; thanks for the reply and video:)

Hey brother first of all. A good video, nicely explain. I have same module with same process. I installed it in my car. Actually its a japanese van. Everything is running smooth except this the Auto window roll up is not working when i close the driver side auto window up it only work manually but not automatically. What will be the solution. Module is working perfectly. Just this the auto window up with the button is.not working. Any idea ?

Hello. Most likely car's module is working the way that Mazda 6 module is working and loses memory when disconnected from power. You need to search for the service procedure to re-program/re-learn the power windows of your vehicle. Unfortunately, if I'm correct, you'll have exactly the same issue with the new module as I explained in the description (I found it after shooting the video). I already have a fix for that, but don't know if it'll work for other brands. I'll update the description soon with schematics for the fix.

@@Mazda626GF Might be. But my Module is working fine. Windows are rolling up as the way it should be. The only issue is my driver side Auto button when i pull it for auto roll up while driving or sitting in the car, it doesn't go up automatically. So i have to pull it till it reaches up.

Yep, same on the 6. Fixable by opening the window all the way down and holding button to down at least 2 seconds after window has reached bottom. Then the same for up - pull the button until window reaches top and keep pulling for at least 2 seconds. After that auto is working, but it'll break after closing the windows with the new module. This is probably why you think module is working fine - your auto is not working. Fix the auto and then lock the vehicle with windows opened, after which check your auto. If I'm correct, it won't work again and you'll need to fix it again... Procedure for fixing auto should be in the user manual of your vehicle, as auto will break when you remove your battery

@@Mazda626GF actually i don't have user manual with me. Japan didn't send this vehicle with it so I don't have any thing from user manual. Also it never happened before like the battery is replaced so it works good. But after installing the module, all four windows are rolling up nicely but when ignition on auto roll feature is not working. Ok i will do with your procedure. Pulling the button for 2 seconds till it reaches down and pushing the button for 2 seconds till it reaches up. Then open the windows and close the door and check. . Right ? I hope it works. Lets see in the evening. Then I'll let you know.

Принципно имам идея как да накарам модула да работи на 6-ца, но не съм имал възможността (все пак нямам такава кола постоянно на разположение). Ако 3-ката е от тези дето имат 4 автоматични прозореца, не си прави експерименти. Ако е от тези дето само шофьорския е автоматичен, то тогава си в графата с 6-цата - трябват трикове за да се подкара правилно...

Hello. Since passenger window is working, I would suggest to switch wiring between driver and passenger window. If problem moves to passenger window, then either you connected it the wrong way or module is defective. If problem stays on the same window, then problem is within the car, not the module.

Problem: If you connect the electric wire as in the manual, you can operate it manually. If you lock the door, only the window next to the driver does not work. Other methods: 1. Only the window next to the driving -If a signal is sent randomly, it works, and the wires to close the window are cut and converted into a signal using a relay. If you close it in manual mode, it will open. It is also not possible to close automatically when locked. 2. When I opened the window on the PCB with you, I soldered a yellow stripe line to the point where the + signal came in, and connected the yellow color to the side going to the motor. In plain language, the knob controls how high the window will go before the module decides it has reached the end. You can go all the way from window not going up at all to trying to go up more even after the window is completely closed. You need to adjust that so the module stops the motor at the appropriete point. Keep in mind that the way this is implemented is by current, so if something slows down your window (like debris or with time it degreases) it'll start stopping earlier and you'll need to fix your window (or re-adjust the knob, but better fix the window).

@@Mazda626GF I have exactly the same module as yours. I adjusted the potentiometer but still the driver side doesn't roll up automatically. It just roll up for about 3 seconds and stopped. The remaining 3 windows are working fine and perfect same as before and after adjusting petentiometer. Problem is with the driver side which has one touch auto up window. please help me solve this driver side.
