Love the MX5 and especially the NC content. You should check the bushing of the control arms and make sure they are not twisted. I was instantly thinking of that when Taylor mentioned that the front is way higher compared to the rear. Anyway, enjoy the NC - greetings from a fellow superchargered NC3 owner 😊

Still loving all the content lads. Also, have decided it’s time to get back into an MX5, which will be my fourth. I think it says a lot when I’ve owned everything from Lotus/Porsche to AMG/Giulia Quadrifoglio, and currently even have a TVR in the garage, but you genuinely can’t beat a modded MX5 for a bit of fast road fun without losing your license.

I bought an NC just before lockdown for a couple of grand and it was fantastic. Fitted a Cobra backbox for a little extra noise. Id love to drive a sorted one with upgraded suspension and brakes. Due to rust i didn't bother incase it turned into a big job.

have one of these. I recommend an NC2/3 as you always hear of the older cars blowing up (the later cars have forged internals and a higher redline). a catless manifold unlocks another 20hp with a remap btw.

ive recently had the chance to drive one of those generations of mx5 at a auction and the car was nasty not that it wasnt a bad car it had mold on every surface on the interior and was damp but other than that and the handbrake being in a weird spot the mx5 gen3 is a pleasant car to drive

I feel like MX-5s are so played out now. Every car person knows its the cheat track day car. But they are small, uncomfortable to ride long distances in, and not the best looking cars. I feel like now there's better options available for the same price that look better, can be made faster around a track, and are more easy to live with.

You used to find running MX5s and MR2s for £500. Sounds alien now. I remember that top gear episode where they go rally crossing in "cheap bangers" and James May bought a running and driving 2nd gen MR2 (SW20) for 500 quid. Those same cars are now selling for like £6k now.
