I’d definitely look into that Honda CRV. Very clean. Put some cats back on it and clean her up, do an oil change and all that and put her back up for auction 😊

Actually Randy, 1st gen Ford Escapes are very tough, those V6 duratecs go far. And if the transmission has been reliable they can be really dependable

Get that CRV that truck is so versatile I have that same one as a work car. Check out the back it has a fold out bridge table in the back and it has a full size spare. Mine has 340,000 same engine and tranny and ice cold a/c I replaced the cat in that car it ran me $725.00

That CR-V is something I'd like. Heated seats and leather, maybe find a way to fix the driver side one. Converter is like $140, as long as they didn't slice it all up under the car that is. Make sure sitting three years didn't gum anything up and it's road ready. A good detail will go a long way on that. All that gray plastic trim needs shined up, the wheels cleaned up, that paint is not flaking off either which is shocking for a 16 year old black car down here.
@christopherldavid3 жыл бұрын
That has to be a rarely optioned crv. I don’t know of many with leather-heated seats either.

My wife would love that Escape. Ozone machine can make it better. If not, well, carpet extraction and headliner replacement here we go. At least it's leather so the cloth won't be holding much. She considered a Santa Fe Sport that orange color last spring before we got her that blue Explorer. I wouldn't use the head gasket repair on a '17 with low miles. Better to just take it apart, do it right. If it were an '07 or something, a $1500 car, that's when those can get you another year or two of driving. Pro tip, don't look at the prices for used 1.5L Ecoboosts. You'd have to get that truck for free to make anything on it with a used motor. Better solution, buy that orange one and then find one same year crunched HARD in the side/back areas, or a rollover. Swap the engine/transmission into the nice looking one, part out and scrap the leftovers, you might make out OK after it's all amortized.

The 1.5l ecoboost in the fusion and escapes were notorious for coolant intrusion into the cylinders because of a manufacturing flaw in the head is what I was told about my fusion. New motor is the best fix for that.

Basically just like this one hers had fog lights and was white with tan leather had 250,000 miles when she got rid of it only needed a rear main Seal and VTEC solenoids she bought it brand new in 2005 and got rid of it in 2019

The 4 pot engine on the Jag is a Ford engine so actually cheaper to repair and maintain than one of Jags own engines, looks like a snapped steering rack tie bar prob the UJ inside the gaiter there parted company due to a split gaiter leaking lubricant and a gritty environment prematurely wore through the joint. You would be surprised at the lively nature of the 4 banger Jag, its not the engine but what Jaguar have done to make it perform very well whilst still giving a very good economy on fuel just don't expect to be hauling huge trailers with it.

Those 1.5s in the Escape are notorious for coolant intrusion and cracked blocks, I'd put money on it not being the head gasket, but a cracked block.

I like the Honda CR-V as a quick flip. Just throw a cheap OEM cat and send it. I'm sure there is some content here. But, the Ford Escape is a content magnet. I'm very sure you can get another engine rather cheaply from a salvage yard. Something that was hit in the rear and cannot be repaired but still has a good powertrain. My sister has a Ford Escape from the same generation. It would be nice to know how much and what it takes to repair one of these if these engines goes out. It should make some good content.
