The best car ever made. I live these cars. They only weigh around 1 tonne and GTS whacks out 190 horse power from a fantastic 1.8 litre engine. Great steering and road feel. Beautiful light and precise 6 speed manuals . ine has done 340k and drives like new.

I had a 2004 corolla XRS with that same engine and it was great, once you get above 6000rpm the high lift kicks in and this car will light up and take off like you have turbo, really great car,

That's such a great deal for that Celica, I always had a soft spot for them. I got my s2000 for $6k. I couldn't drive it home though, the engine was nearly destroyed. Dude before me said the water pump failed while at 8k rpm and melted the camshaft, so it has a new top end, and I've had to do so much more to it and still can't drive it yet. Crankshaft had to go to the machine shop, new bearings, new timing chain because it snapped while idling after getting a new tensioner, all new gaskets and rear main seal, so much more. She needed love, but I can't wait to go for a drive when she's done.

Got mines for $1400 just needed $450 to the trans and a new exhaust cuz old was welded badly and had to redo suspension cuz he had cut the springs but other then that she is a charm

A Friend of mine has 2000 Toyota Celica gt with over 300K those cars will go forever his has an issue with the transmission and it has burnt piston rings so it eats oil but is the most reliable vehicle I have ever seen

What a steal. I got this exact one almost with a respray (and broken lift bolts and a condensation issue) for around $10K after the deal payment option. Maybe I got ripped off, but I see these things going all the time with 200K around Oregon for similar prices. At 142K miles it was the lower dealer one I've seen in forever, they are not easy to come by besides private sales. Amazing daily car.

@@larios86 Yeah, I cannot complain for what you get out of a gem like this. It's way more exciting than what you can get in it's price range if you want reliability too. Still at this age, they feel like project cars sometimes. Then again my 88' Supra has less issues than my Celica does aside from water seal stuff. They don't make them like they used to.

No parasitic battery drain, if it starts after sitting for a month. Should be worth $5500 or more once you touch up the clear coat peeling. Nice car!

I've put about $1,200 into it so far; brakes, rotors, calipers, struts, sway bar links, lock actuators and misc interior items. Still needs seat repaired, rust fixed - it has a lot more than I expected, and a paint job. Probably going to cost another $2,500+ and then I'll have $7k into it! 😂 I hope to get it squared away with my son next year.

These Toyotas are great but do have their issues. 00-02 Celica's (especially GT-S) are known to burn oil. You have to HAVE TO be checking your oil levels every 500-1000 miles. Also automatic Celica GT-S are slower than automatic Celica GT. MPG for these vehicles is around 30-33. Also check your ball joints and suspension overall since that is another weak point. Overall a great car and very reliable. I'm an owner of a 2003 Celica GT Automatic with Veilside Body Kit :). Have had the car for 13 years.

gts dont really burn oil unless there is an issue, only zenki celica gt have oil burning issues

2zzge DONT BURN OIL the 1zzfe burn oil from pistons rings until 2003 models.

It hasn't burned oil, but the timing chain tensioner does leak. 😂 It's time to do our first oil change soon.

According to Scotty Kilmer, if the transmission fluid has never been changed, don't change it. If it has, I would at least drain and clean the filter, then refill. Toyota automatics are finicky for any fluid other than genuine Toyota fluid. And thriw some non slip in it.

I was just browsing around on youtube when I found your newest video about fixing the red Cadillac. Then I remembered, your Cadillac looks the exact same as the one they used in the movie Terminal Velocity that they jumped out the back of a cargo plane with in the middle of the air. I just thought this was neat because your Cadillac and the one they used from the movie look to be completely identical coming down to the convertible roof, the exact same shade of red, same black leather interior, and the same gauges. Pretty cool coincidence if you ask me!
