The hissing on the Mariner is the brake booster. It is common on those, tributes and escapes of that era. They used cheap plastic seals that wore out quickly. You have to replace them or the whole booster. The part is cheap and the remains have rubber seals and last longer.
@KenshinNX605 жыл бұрын
On the trailblazer when the truck starts to idle rough when you turn the AC on the throttle body needs to be cleaned and it fixes the issue. I have a TB I bought a year ago with 231kmiles I bought from copart with the same amount of miles has 254k miles now. The transmission maybe bad. Mine went out at 240k you can't tell if they transmission is bad unless you try to drive over 45mph to get to higher gears

Randy, the wire you found on the trailblazer by the fuse block is extra, every one I've seen has one. I believe it has to do with adding something on the trailer hookup. Mine has never been connected. The trans dipstick is made of something that corrodes like mad with the trans fluid. My 04 has 299000 miles on it and I have to emery cloth it every year or so to knock the rust off it.

Randy @ 15:30 the 3.0 Vulcan engine was always durable and trouble-free. The 3.8 was the one that ate head gaskets like Skittles. The Vulcan is an iron block and heads pushrod motor that's archaic and simple, albeit underpowered. However it was sufficient to pull the Taurus and Sable around. Also, the Tempo, Probe, Ranger...... A miss here is probably a spark plug or fuel injector. I have 153K on my '06 Taurus and that's been the only mechanical issue.

Starter Button. A number of years ago, there was a bunch of scammers who rigged cars up to sell a "Clean Spark" device that was suppose to improve gas mileage. They would demonstrate the device at swap meets and such. The hidden starter button was the key to show the device worked. Eventually the gang was caught and sent to prison. It was mostly in California. I'm surprised it made it to Oklahoma.

Had an 04 TB myself with high mileage - always reliable, only had problems in two areas: fan clutch would only last about 75K, it was totally different from any other GM fan clutch, and the blend door actuator would go from time to time, but that was a cheap and easy part.

I loved driving it on long trips, it was a perfect car for me and i'm sure for most people. Unfortunately my sister managed to roll it but amazingly she walked away unscathed.
