There's nothin' better than the Bondo Hog and the 10" wood sanding block. Those were my go-to tools for sanding filler. Nice video Greg - real good information 👍

Those 2 tools are my favorite for getting panels straight and done fast. Thanks for checking it out Jerry

Wszystko pięknie tylko pod szpachle trzeba było dać epoksyd po całej gołej blasze. Zabezpieczyłby przed korozją i poprawił przyczepność szpachli. 😅

7:48 great trick. filling pinholes with regular bondo instead of overpriced glazing putty. This reminds me. I've never tried to use bondo over sanded 2k surfacer. You know ,for filling lows,scratches and pinholes that are left after blocking the first coat of 2k surfacer. Im scared what would happen in a long term after a panel is painted. But glazing puttys are just too much overpriced. Im thinking about doing a test panel(fender or door) using a regular bondo mixed with fiberglass resin to thin it 🤔. Then after block-sanding the primer for first time i will use the bondo-fiberglass mix to fill the scratches, pinholes and low spots.Then will sand to level it. Then again a coat of 2k surfacer and then finish sand before paint.No sealer.No glazing putty.Then when i paint the panel i will leave it outside for an year to do the test.

I quit using glazing putty years ago. I found that it dried a little harder than bondo and it sanded harder until you knocked the top surface off. I want everything to sand at the same rate to get a more consistent surface. I will also use the razor blade trick to fill pinholes after priming then block sand as normal and seal and paint. Never had an issue. Thanks for your comment Petar and for watching

3 or 4 wet coats. I need to step up my paint practices. Thanks.

It’s important to get plenty of primer on so when you block sand you don’t go through too much and it gives a good sealer for paint. Thanks for watching

I’ve been curious on how the feathering works to have a fade on the primer so it won’t show the misinperfections. Other than that it’s a nice video!

The trick is to sand all the scratches out of the filler and existing paint. If you sand with 180 or 220 grit and then prime, you’ll have minimal shrinkage. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching

Can you please recommend a air compressor that can keep up with air sanders and sandblasting? Thank you for the video?
@autobodytrainingsolutions8385 ай бұрын
I really can’t recommend a specific brand but a dual stage compressor puts out a lot more air than a single stage. Also get the biggest tank you can afford and have room for. Sandblasters use a lot of air but but can be run off smaller tanks as long as it’s a dual stage pump. Thanks for watching

just about every compressor big enough to do this kind of work is going to be 220v and most likely 30 amps,just my .02
