After 6 months of using this, it teaches me to be patient, let others potong you first becoz..your car cannot kejar them although they are Myvi... And dont expect it to answer to ur desire quickly becoz it has a mind of its own....but it never fails you when u need it the most..during heavy rain and when u want to visit your friend’s durian orchad in Kenaboi...and when u need a sleep over next to the RnR..just fold down the back seat and you do not have to worry about budget hotel anymore....

Great review with a great car. Probably this is the best in this segment even though I love the CX3 styling ang interior but if I want to be practical this is the best choice for me just because of the AWD system of this car, it's impressive.

Agreed. The CX3 interior is way nicer than the XV. But the XV has smoother drive and better braking.

You will enjoy the car more when it's bundled with eyesight system. The audio should be using HK with AP and AA like in US. Hopefully they bring in the HK into Singapore and Malaysia. You are right in the Subaru AWD, it just feel better as compare to FWD or even RWD. 2L is good enough for City drive and with a good set of tires, it's will be a quiet cruising in the Subaru.

Eu Jin, I'd love to know more about the E36 ownership experience. It's an awesome drive for sure, but where do the parts for routine servicing / periodic replacements come from? Do they cost a lot and can you still get them from the OEM? Thanks.

Nice review but one problem I had with a test unit I drove is that the carbon-like inserts on the front door were gloss, but the rear ones were matt. Are all of them like that? Why?

Test drove this and its predecessor when it was launched, and the biggest improvement is the NVH, better CVT calibration, followed by the slightly bigger rear passenger space. And its pretty much like you summarized, a vehicle's version of the training shoes for everyday use. If Subaru intends to improve it when its packaged with the Eyesight technology, please give it a more viewable HU, and replace the full-sized spare wheel with a space saver like those fitted in the US or Singapore even if it add just 1 or 2 inches more of depth?

I usually watch Taiwanese version of car presentations. But now, I feel that Malaysia has an equivalent and good presenter in Eujin. Like your presentations and commentaries. I own a Singapore registered Subaru XV, 3 months old and 6500 km on the meter. I hate the headset, the Navigation system and the slow start-up when it is under the hot sun. I have the eye-sight system, good to play with but a super safety system on the highway. Power wise, though not turbo is sufficient to use and the pick up is still very good but not comparable to Forester XT.

As a new owner myself, my wife and I agree with all points you mentioned. The good and the not so good. I don't think there were any for this car. Except for the headunit. It sucks big time! Cheapo! Great video Eujin of AutoBuzz. My wife and I enjoyed watching it. 👍🏻👌🏻

I the display of the head unit looks way cheaper than the one in Europe, can't really understand why subaru took the decision to include this display. I mean in Europe its crisp and clear and responsive.

U need to highlight the Black n white display unit is due to CKD XV . Original unit CBU supposingly is in Color display , no issue with glare or reflection .

Gears are sooooo 20th century. The display is completely different in Australian (and I think US and European) cars. Much more colourful, and I haven't heard any other reviewer talking about the reflection so maybe that is different too.

Mite been a successor if doesn't come with CVT. Some amateur mechanic says it's the future. I can see many opting out frm CVT to 8speed or 10 speed gearbox. CVT maintains the power/torque but slips alot. Nissan looses their market with their problematic CVT. Cost higher to repair as well. Even Toyota learn their lesson.
