Drag Race: Civic Type-R vs AMG A35 vs Clubman JCW on KLIA Runway - AutoBuzz.my

This is the FIRST EVER drag race on Kuala Lumpur International Airport KLIA runway! We lined-up three chilli-hot hatches - Honda Civic Type-R, Mercedes-AMG A35 & MINI Clubman JCW - for a quarter mile drag race, on this 4KM runway. Powered by PETRONAS Primax97 with Pro-Race.
Joining us in this episode is Malaysia’s ONLY F1 Driver, Alex Yoong who will be piloting the FK8 Type-R. Which one will cross the line first? Gentlemen, pick your weapon!

I wouldnt say so, its still a good car, it held vs them both yet its 25k less CAD $, which is gigantic money different, you get a SUV thats as racy as some reknown racing production hatchback? for 25k less? Id say its more than great value

The mini gets 4.7 to 100 km they must have not had it in sport mode. The mini in sport mode would have beat all of them.

It wouldn’t be a Type R if it came awd. Also the extra weight in the back with the AWD system wouldn’t make it as balance as it is now. Honda will just have to make a CRV coupe awd, cause making a Type r awd would kill the tradition imo

13.8-14.0 is the average for the Honda (on any channels where they do the 400m). He had a good "jump" launch and still got only 14.92? Some thing is wrong with that car I guess. Other from that good video! :)

I completely agree! I just bought a Type R and with only 500 miles on it my dragy on a 92 degree day I ran a 13.7 at 105 mph! 14.9 makes no sense at all!
