Just divide 1000 (for m) and 1 (for mm) by that zoom factor. So in the case it’s 1:250 (if working in m)

Very good way of explaining the used of viewport. Easy to understand. I am cad user and 6 years of work experience. you explain it very good specially to new cad users. All about viewports, you explained it 💯🤝 very good 👏👏

I am also thinking of making a tutorial on putting coordinates in a viewport, which way do you use to do this?
@josephsanmiguel7930 Жыл бұрын
Most of the time Sir. I do it in model space Adding coordinates either Annotation Coordinate Block attributes. Depend on drawing. Or for more points we use lisp or excel data. Or if it's in viewport I think it can activate viewport and insert coordinates as long as UCS is in World set. Haven't tried it Can you make tutorial of _Data extractions _ excel data link which Some use different ways , some use lisp , some use data link manually . I'm not sure which is more effecient. I want to learn some Lisp Their are bunch of lisp. But I want to learn some lisp that are useful most of the time.

Really useful. I use Tool Pallettes in our office but I notice you have lots of your blocks etc at the top of your cad - could you do a video explaining the useful time saving blocks you use perhaps and maybe how to set them up? Thanks again for your help!

Hi Dan, there is a video on how to create ucs, and also now the drainage ucs is available to be purchased online. Thank you for the comment!

For some reason I don't have the 'Layout' tab and only half the tabs you have. Maybe it's a version thing. Also, my paper space is all white and only has one view. If my civil 3d 2013 is capable of these viewport things, I could see how much smoother drafting plans could be. Good video as usual!
@CivilTechSource2 жыл бұрын
Hi, the layout tab should be visible once you switch to paperspace. In regards to the rest of the tabs, civil3d has different tabs as a default but you should still find all the tabs you want in autocad with right tweaking.
@freedomhillbilly3482 жыл бұрын
@@CivilTechSource Awesome! I discovered that you have to DOUBLE CLICK inside the viewport/outside of the viewport to change context of the tabs and what is being modified. This is going to change how I prep drawings altogether! It's HUGE. Thank you so much!

Hi... I've questions related to Autocad, which I've been facing from last one year:? I've so many viewport of Different layouts ...(Like interior, flooring , ceiling and MEP etc) of A Master plan. Now I've created sub Divided Zone Of Master plan, and each sub Divided zones has all layouts which already I've copied from master plan through viewports... Now I want to make modifications like if I unfreeze/freeze a layer in any sub Divided zone of a particular layout... it should automatically get modified in another Viewport layout of respective layout of another subdivided zone as well as Masterplan....
@CivilTechSource2 жыл бұрын
In paperspace, Double click on your viewport and from the layer manager use the viewport freeze. Hope this helps.
@rohit_v_karma2 жыл бұрын
Viewport freeze and Unfreeze is possible..on All sub Divided zones layouts and master plan layout...But the problem is, I've to keep modifying the Same Viewport for Another Sub Divided zone layouts and master plan... Which basically I want, If i copy a Viewport multiple times, and do freeze/unfreeze it should automatically changed in all rest of viewport ..just exactly like a block. And currently I copy multiple Viewport and make freeze and Unfreeze in one viewport it doesn't changes in another Viewport... So is there any command that copy viewport with all similar properties...and and one without similar properties...?
@CivilTechSource2 жыл бұрын
There in model space in the layer tab the should be a command viewport freeze layer. So it will be frozen in any viewports you create. Alternatively, you can finish one viewport and freeze or unfreeze stuff you want and copy paste that viewport so the majority of the work is done.

this is awesome but how do i get rid of the outline or grid of a viewport?

Hi Jordan, just make sure the viewport layer is not printable in the layer manager.

how do i get the civil tech source add on? like yo have on your autocad
@CivilTechSource2 жыл бұрын
Hi Eddie, I am currently working on it. This will require some documentation to allow the user to tweak things to their needs (Layer names, colors etc.), will require to update my website to accept payments (Still trying to figure that one out). However, if you really want it we can discuss further via email.

@5:47, why do you put 1000 on paper units? That's exactly what I've been trying to understand in all these videos, and nobody is explaining 😭
@CivilTechSource11 ай бұрын
So, if you are drawing in mm you would the scale 1:1 would mean 1mm in paper means 1mm in real life/model. So if you wanted to have a scale 1:10 means 1mm in paper means 10mm in real life/model. So now if you apply it to a drawing drawn in metres (lets say a road of 50 metres at a scale of 1:100) this would mean that 1mm in paper means 50x100= 5000meters in real life which would be wrong so therefore you make the paper unit 1000 to represent the 1m because in 1m there is 1000mm, so again if you have a road of 50m and you want to put it on a drawing of 1:100, that would be too zoomed in so you put 1000 in paper units to zoom it out/scale it to metres
