The biggest pleasant surprise from this video from my perspective - The TVS Eurogrip tyres on Aprilia RS457 have done better on the racetrack than the Metzeler M5 (H rated) on KTM RC 390. This is a huge achievement for the India based tyre manufacturer! There used to be a time when we nicknamed Eurogrip tyres as Euroslip tyres as they performed very badly on the early editions of Pulsar 200NS. From that, if TVS has reached a phase where it is beating Metzeler tyres on track, then that is a big deal, no doubt!

The Aprilia is just better in every way, looks way way better, faster, better handling, componentry and electronics. 2 years ago I was in the market for a sports bike in this segment and I had to buy something else cause apart from RC and Apache there were no options (neither appealed to me), such a pity as I want the aprilia now 😢

imo, if you are on tight budget & want affordable/predictable aftersales experience then Rc390 is the one to go for but if one has extra ~1.2L of budget upfront, and is equipped to deal with expensive/nonpredictable aftersales experience then that Rs457 is the bomb! :* for me -- both are still a dream :')

Haven't heard the 457's exhaust in flesh- but if someone says that it sounds the same as the RS660, then you'd be sold on the exhaust note. The RS660 despite being a twin sounds veryyyyy similar to its elder V4 sibling. A good aftermarket exhaust on the 457 could further elevate that sound and give you the feel of an RSV4. That alone is worth its price- everything else is a bonus and it wins absolutely at everything. I love KTMs, but the quirky design is not to my liking (next to an Aprilia I can call it straight ugly) and so is the inconsistent fueling at the bottom end and the engine/ exhaust sound. Biking enthusiasts are in for a real treat.

the rs457's beauty gets even more highlighted in front of the ktm ...looks so much better than the ktm it looks fast while standing still .....design and sound alone should be deciding factors to get the aprilia ... only gripe with the aprilia is the skinny front tyre which doesnt go well with the big front end ... rest its a baby rsv4

As a Gen2 RC 390 owner. I'm saying this, the Aprilia is a one up on the RC in EVERY WAY except brakes and tyres. But once those are upgraded. The Aprilia is just a better bike. But I still wouldn't trade my RC for it cause it's just that. An amazing machine.

the riding geometry on the older gen rc390 is way superior than the aprilia or even any other bikes which are not super sport. its as close to a moto gp bike as possible.

@@ferbinxyz Good for you man! I thought about trading mine but going from 44bhp to 47bhp wouldn't cut it for me. My RC with my current mods can cross 200kmph. My next aim is an ADV and probably a 600 supersport after that :)

@@yohaan9 I changed my mind. I took a longer test drive this time (around 30kms) and I realized the performance difference isn't huge especially in the mid range. Also, rs457 is vibey at higher rpms, isn't as refined as a ninja 300 despite being a twin. I am thinking of adding a fuel x lite to solve the Jerky ride at lower rpms.. What mods do you have on your rc390?

The Aprilia will be more refined and balanced machine particularly with that frame and power plant they stuffed inside, However you get what you pay for i guess. Bang for buck the KTM with a few mods is decent enough for a trackday. I just wish they had a twin cylinder a posed to a single thumper.
