Honda 750 engine is an unexpected gem and definitely worth the extra money. But Suzuki makes sense as a better overall product and should probably do better in India. With the big KTMs also due on our shores soon, the big bike scene in India is finally maturing.
@abhishekdasgupta1640

Are the KTMs equally reliable to those of japanese giants like Honda & suzuki?? What's your take on this bro?🤔🤔
@aditya.ishan27
@aditya.ishan27 7 ай бұрын
@@abhishekdasgupta1640 KTM make very good adv bikes but still they have a reputation to go bad easily as compared to their Japanese counterparts.. One thing I have observed, in European countries their insurance companies don't cover the electronic components for KTM as ktm comes with loads of electronics functions and adjustment and they come as a pack. They are expensive to repair so companies don't cover it.. and people find it difficult to find companies who cover them or have a premium quotation for it. That's one point but yeah the 890 adv R got a really good suspension top shelf and a really good low centre of gravity and handling.. but the 'R' model would be too tall for an average Indian person.
@abhishekdasgupta1640
@abhishekdasgupta1640 7 ай бұрын
@@aditya.ishan27 I got your point bro. Thanks for sharing your view. Ktm adventure 890r seat height being 880mm is significantly in the higher side for an average indian male but not significantly higher than the suzuki vstrom 800D, Transalp 750.

Both the Transalp and 800DE fail at providing tubeless setup. Giving tubes on an ADV bike in India north of 10lakhs where even highways have stray nails and debris, is literally a sin. Atleast the Transalp has an option to swap the rear with an Africa Twin but the Suzuki has nothing in this regard. Maybe Outex conversion but thats more like a hack😢

Absolutely! The v strom re is the perfect bike for the indian market. They got a bike for 5 guys who take their bike off road and have come up empty handed for the remaining 95 of bikers who ride entirely on road / Tarmac
@saikatdey2007

@@ashwinoashwin Yess. The 800 RE makes perfect sense for India. Lesser seat height, alloys, better brakes, easy 2-up touring. The lack of proper mid segment tourer ADVs in India is crazy. Hope KTM brings in 690 twins with a touring bias.

According to autocar review yes , but not everyones review especially international reviews, according to them transalp is nowhere near comfortable as v strom, quick shifter as std, fully adjustable suspension, switching modes,tc and everything on the go is only there in the suzuki,low end grunt is better on the suzuki,got 2 counter balancers on the engine which made engine smoother than the honda and the list goes on....if you are looking for one go test ride yourself and make a descision I've never ridden an adv motorcycle above NX500 so i don't know what these are actually capable of
