@stevenstanselljr71153 жыл бұрын
I have both a ls and 5.4 triton.....one reason chevy is better is that you don't have to over torque the spark plugs to keep them from hitting the hood, another would be push rod engines are cheaper to make power with.......you can take ls parts from anything even a express van and use them on a truck......GM made them far more interchangeable which makes them cheaper to maintain. Ford had multiple different brake calibers for just the f150s so people on a budget look to gm. That being said I am pleased to see a old Ford getting put together

Keep it looking totally stock for the perfect sleeper look. You can still get much wider rubber on those stock rims improving traction. With a sleeper on the street it's not about traction from a stop but on a roll halfway through an intersection. As an ultimate sleeper years ago, I built a brand new, fully loaded 1988 Chevrolet Caprice straight off the showroom floor with an LS5 454 and 175 hp N.O.S. cheater kit. Fooled EVERYONE, lol! That car ran 13.2 at 103 at the track on street tires. 0-60 in 5.8. It was so hilarious at the next set of lights when that Corvette or Mustang driver would pull up with his window down shouting, "WHAT HAVE YOU GOT UNDER THAT HOOD!!!". My lovely wife put 190,000 miles on that car over 18 years as her daily driver.

@@rarbona, yes times have changed. Sadly your Camry is lost in a crowd of so many cars that are much faster than it. When driving an unmarked, late model police cruiser you could even swap in a powerless 4 cylinder under the hood and you'd still be driving the most powerful vehicle on the road...it causes even a Ferrari or a Lamborghini driver to hit their brakes, buckle up their seatbelt and drive along under the speed limit, lol.

@Victor Garza key is proper tuning. People put too much timing at lower rpms or not pull enough up top at max boost. Buddy got 710 out of his before his rods let loose. They are weak though. But turbo is also easier on the parts with better tuning.

My air filter mounting suggestion would be to relocate the windshield washer reservoir so that you could fabricate a true sealed/closed cold air intake box. I am running an expensive AFE sealed cold air intake system on my NA 2018 Ford F-250 with the 6.2.ltr. I was shocked to see IAT's +12 deg F over ambient at freeways speeds in my HP Tuners scanner. At idle the IAT's skyrocket 40+ deg over ambient. I can't imagine what my numbers would be if I was drawing intake air directly from the engine compartment.

I wonder if the 4.6 would hold that kind of power without flying apart. Did you do anything with the computer or running an aftermarket ECU?
@AutoDetour3 жыл бұрын
I bet it would with a nice rich tune and not crazy timing. I'm running 13 PSI now and it's still holding together. I flashed a custom tune into the stock ECU using an SCT X4

4 high you will beat the 19 if you can half way hold traction, but in 2wd probably not, cause the 10th gens are just so light in the rear. Looking forward to the race!

4 hi would definitely hold. I can't wait to see how they compare!

What’s done to the motor it’s self to handle the boost? Or is it completely stock internals
@Brock_Landers5 жыл бұрын
I'm sure it's bone stock inside. He might have put some new head gasket or head studs, but I doubt it. Those engine respond to low boost fairly well.
