Are we to assume that the pistons and the cylinders or the reed valves don't wear out and that compressors only need new seals and bearings?
@DamaskeTeam15 күн бұрын
Well in my opinion pistons and cylinders dont wear out that fast like valve plates, most of the time pistons and cylinders are left the same, but valve plates are changed. Not sure about this, but i think it is made like that, i mean the compressor is made that cylinders and pistons dont wear out that fast, before that you can change 2-3 times valve plates. I actually couldnt understand if the plates were checked from the video, but in every compressor the valve plates have some thickness and if the thickness is really small you need to change them for a better efficiency.
@DamaskeTeam15 күн бұрын
Most of the time if you inspect the compressor you can see with clear eye that there is some cracks on cylinders or pistons, in that scenario, something was triggered in that outcome so you need to find the clue why, for my daily basis, most of the time it is camshafts that failed in process they brake pistons too which can damage the cylinder also. But in all other cases you just inspect valve plates, and change them if you see that it is needed. Other than that you just change bearings and seals. I the end my compressors are a little different from this video, this one is more basic from the ones i am repairing and investigating.

How do you go about getting specific bearings when you're doing restorations on parts like this that are usually replaced as a whole unit?
@Patrick94GSR16 күн бұрын
Many times bearings have numbers on them which can be cross referenced on Google search to find the right ones.
@richardkaz233615 күн бұрын
@@Patrick94GSR it's sourcing replacement seals and gaskets that is the real dificulty. As for the bearings they are mostly available unless you live in Australia where many specialty bearings are not stocked or listed at the bearing wholesale suppliers. The other thing to note bearings usually are only supplied with petroleum jelly/vaseline and not fully packed with the correct type and quanterty of grease.

Really enjoyed that, I have to decide what to do with a DENSO A/C compressor and seeing your refresh made it much less daunting. I will have to see what parts kits are available. Three questions, please. 1, what was the cleaging solution you used? 2, my manual says to measure the volume of oil that drains out so you know how much to add. The video doesn't show adding any oil, but no dramas. Is this how you typically do it? 3, DENSO say to use ND-oil 8 or ND-oil 12 rather than PAG. They are the DENSO oils for DENSO compressors. Was the product you used the right oil? Many thanks!! Must go and look at your alternator vid, too.

@GearheadGorillaАй бұрын
Always keep it on. That way all lines are lubricated and orings are less likely to fail. As an additional bonus air conditioning dries the air, so your car is less likely to steam up inside
@autodocukАй бұрын
It is advisable to use it periodically even in cold seasons so that the system works normally. In rainy or cold weather the air conditioner removes humidity well in the cabin and the windows fog up quickly.
