I DID IT! The caliper carrier was impossible to remove. Luckily you can wiggle out the disc without taking it off. If you live in a rust prone place you may also want to replace the heat shield (mine was rusted completely). Nice tutorial.

I read some forums, and some people found those screws very hard to be opened. Even, recommend to change for a new ones after change of rotors. Is it recommended to put some threadlock or some coppergrease (then easier to remove next time)?
@0ptixPrime5 жыл бұрын
probably to prevent any chance of the screw from unfastening from continual movement.

I have a question. I tried to unscrew one of the bolts to the gliding pin it was already rounded. What is a good way to remove it ? I dont have a Induction heater can i. Use a burner on the bolt or is the rubber to the pins melt?

You can remove the disc without removing the carrier. Helps if you don’t have the spline tooth tool. My caloper does not whinned back, tried so many times, any suggestions please help Doc?? Otherwise I’m thinking to replace the caliper which would be costly.

Thank you for your feedback. When squeezing the brake piston there is a chance that the cuff may come off, after which it must be returned to its place. This is exactly what our mechanic did in this fragment.

I like to replace the carrier bolts with hex head bolts in 10.9 grade. Undoing them with a spanner is so much easier than the OEM spline head ones.
