A week ago tomorrow I picked up my Platinum White Pearl Integra Type S at Valencia Acura in Valencia CA. Although I wanted a Civic Type R none could be found at MSRP or without ridiculous dealer add ons. My car was reserved for another customer who backed out last minute. I was sold the car at just MSRP. It did have a small ding on the top of the hatch which was promptly corrected before delivery. The passenger rocker panel was scratched but the dealer will replace it. Thankfully the part comes pre painted. I should have that swapped out hopefully next week. While there I'm having them install the Copper Accessory wheels. It's going to be sweet. I just love it. My past Integra was a 1996 GSR which I purchased new. I wish I still had it. I drove a 1997 Acura Integra GSR for 17+ years. Great handling car with the double wishbone suspension. Light enough to dance thru any S curves at speed feeling like it was on rails even though its FWD. Acura really did some magic job on that car. Hatchback design so the backseats flipped down to a big storage area. Now it would be injustice not to talk about the 4 cylinder naturally aspirated 8000 Red Line revving engine that with an AEM cold air intake let the meanest growl you could ever imagine with the stock exhaust. It absolutely terrified people in the warm weather with their windows down as I ripped by thru the gears. All for a reasonable $20,000 ! This new Integra Type S looks much bigger ( wider & longer). The turbo engine is a 4 cylinder work of art. However the cost of this car runs $51,000 to $57,500+ ! While the new Type S has a much nicer interior the function is still what the old Integra gave too. My gripe is that it will never be in the price range of most young enthusiasts like the old Integra. It was what 5 or 6 years that Acura got rid of the manual transmissions in their cars. This new Integra brought back the manual to Acura.
@AutoEnthusedTV Жыл бұрын
Totally get it but we also have to take into account inflation. Everything is much more expensive now and I think one other thing we forget is that a lot less younger buyers are actually interested in cars compared to our generation. This makes this more of a niche product as time goes on.

$52k is overpriced for this class of vehicle. There is so much more you can buy with the added dealer butt F%*# costs🤮 Shifting a manual transmission goes all the way back to the 1986 Integra 5-door, and through the GS-R, Type-R, and Type-S years. I have no complaints in the stretches of stop and go traffic. I agree I wish high quality parts here and there and YES it would have been great if there was a bigger gas tank. I average about 21-22MPGs between my commute and city driving over the weekend. I have/noticed interior rattles under hard acceleration/higher RPMs in Sport + does kill the vibe for me. In Comfort it’s not as bad but still present. I get the rattles in the center of the dash and somewhere around the passenger side door/window. The biggest complaint I have is, I feel it’s over priced especially having to pay a 5k mark up.

Rattles emanating from a brand new $50k car is unconscionable, it would drive me bonkers. You can have a stiff chassis and firmly riding suspension and still have the assembly quality and materials to tamp down rattles. Thanks for sharing. Great to see Honda (Acura) made another type S model. It brings back so much memories when I wish i had a civic type R back in the days.

Oops speak too much this is a Honda made vehicle. Nevertheless, great review

This video is made for and brought to you by Honda fan boys. It’s a nice car for what it is, but it’s not a super car, it’s not a practical car for most for various reasons, and while I love the 2019/2020 Honda Accord 2.0 Sport manual, it definitely was an economy car not a luxury car - this is an economy car at luxury car prices. Don’t kid yourselves fan boys. Just enjoy it for what it is

Nice color choice! Acura, if you're listening, I would have bought one of these if they came with a sunroof....

This is an expensive car at slightly more than $50,000 so I would expect a lot from its performance. In this price category there are lots of other very fine vehicles, so choose wisely.

I think if the BMW engineers of the 1960s and 1970s remade the old model 2002 Tii today, it would be much like this. No higher praise is possible.

Really nice review. It’s clear that the ‘missings’ you believe the car should have are all beancounter cuts that produce additional income by their absence. It’s surprising they didn’t include those items in this competitive midsize sport segment.

cool car. I've owned all the generations of Integra, so glad they brought it back. BUT, the price is a non-starter. How can anyone look at this without thinking: Supra or M2?? It would be different if it had a fine V or inline 6, but it has the same modern vacuum cleaner over-boosted 4. To help you forget it is a $8K engine, they pump fake sound into it, and make the exhaust do the fake backfires.Acura, re-introduce it at $39K.

Honda shifters are just the best, even in a base Accord. I had a 1994 GSR that’s been gone for 20 years now and have not owned a car with a better shifter.

At a price over $60k for a 4 cylinder turbo engine FWD vehicle, I wouldn’t touch this thing with a 10 foot pole. Over priced and not measuring up to the performance for the price. At this price I’d rather get a BMW M3.40i X Drive or IS500 F Sprot Performance Premium. This Integra type S is a complete rip off. Rather even get the TSX type S.

Test drove it myself for the first time and I will say the torque steering is pretty obvious, the power is good, if only they would have made it AWD…….. PERFECTION.

Yes, it’s very obvious if you go hard on the throttle. For everyday driving it’s easy to forget it’s a FWD

@@AutoEnthusedTV , I daily a 2019 Civic Si, it took a couple street lights to find the happy medium to not get it to lose traction. Rev matching was fun, I will say the stereo system is PHENOMENAL. The interior was kinda blah, just a hair better than my Si,

Honda and Acura need to study the German cars and learn how to design a quiet cabin in their cars. They haven't got there yet. I like features of the Type S but don't think it's worth $9K over the Honda type R. The high back on the rear of the car makes my back ache just looking at it... I had enough of that with my Type S RSX. I like the looks, the heavy metal flake paint, the slightly crackly engine and of course the Acura drive train quality. Good and honest review, thanks.

I can't get over the fact that looks like one of the newer honda civic with a body kit, In my area that is PA I have yet to see a brand new one lower than 55k and a used one with a little more than 3k goes for 50k, that is crazy!!
@mrnrfan18210 ай бұрын
I entertained trading my FK8 CTR for the ITS. After adding the heated steering wheel (should be standard), the more aggressive CF trunk spoiler (which is the proper one for this car), bronze wheels (I want it in white), and the blacked out emblems, this car was well into the 60k price point after taxes and fees. I couldn’t justify trading my 37k CTR which is largely the same car… And the missing features, like ventilated seats, rear HVAC, a 5th seat, power passenger seat, memory settings for your seats, a sunroof (which I don’t actually want and prefer my cars without), is a bit silly considering it’s supposed to be a “luxury” car. For comparison of features only…my winter beater is a CX-30 which cost me 35k (40k OTD). It has a full leather interior, power front seat with memory settings, a sun roof, rear vents, a HUD, rain sensing wipers, headlights the move as you corner, adaptive cruise, heated seats, HEATED STEERING WHEEL, a 5th seat, a middle seat arm rest, AWD, and a turbo charged 250HP engine that will get from 0-60 just a bit slower (about 1.5 seconds) than the Type S. Explain to me how a basic economy car that comes in under 40k has MORE features than a 50k+ “luxury” car. The ITS doesn’t have an increase in performance over it’s cheaper CTR sibling and it has fewer luxury features than the TLX. So who is this car for? The person who wants a more expensive Type R but a cheaper TLX?
@AutoEnthusedTV10 ай бұрын
There’s no one way to explain why anyone would (not should) get the ITS but here’s where I personally see it. If you wanted to buy a house with every single piece of luxury and amenity you can think of, you are not likely able to get it in a particular neighborhood. Some houses don’t have all the things I *might* want but it could be they are in a neighborhood that I prefer. Because ultimately, I would choose whatever it is that calls to me as my “home” based on my preference and not simply by quantifying every single detail. The FK8 was always a car I “kind of” liked but I just couldn’t get past the looks. I could’ve gotten an FK8 now since they’re much cheaper but I still would rather get the ITS because that one calls to me.

The question that matters the most is, how much did you pay over MSRP? How much was it marked up?
