Iridium Silver, Indium Grey, this is Indium Grey. No AdBlue. I’ve had 4 W211 w/OE Motors. My dd is a 2008 (Flint Grey) with 122k, love it. BTW, my daughter’s 2009 W211 E320 Bluetec that we found in California and registered there is a NO AdBlue.

I have a 2007 E63 which is based on the same W211 platform but with the 500+ horsepower AMG engine and sport suspension, it is our second Mercedes. Once you go Mercedes as Bill would say you suddenly realize how crappy most other cars truly are, and at age 65 I've owned dozens of other cars. Watching this video makes me lust for this diesel as the E63's M156 AMG engine cosumes both gas and maintence dollars at ravenous rates. I'm keeping my E63 but if I had to buy used again today I'd probably go for the diesel.

For this generation, there was an E420 CDI 4.0 V8 turbo-diesel with 315hp and 540ft-lbs of torque if that’s more to your liking. It would be louder and use a lot more diesel though, and because of that, I’d still recommend the E320/E300 BlueTEC over the E420 CDI.

It's not a 3.2 litre - that was the straight 6 pre 2006 car . This is an OM642.920 3 litre V6.

In Australia 2008 we had the E280 CDi but didn't get the E320CDi - identical OM642 3.0 V6 Alloy engine in both apart from a detuned engine in the E280CDi. Our W211 Diesel's didn't have Adblu or DPF .

Even though this video is 3 years old, the 2005 and 2006 CDI is the ONLY MB diesel to own. The 2007+ diesels were VERY problematic compared to the 05/06! The used value reflects this in 2023! It is extremely difficult to find a 05/06 with low mileage. If you do, the cars can be $15,000+! This guy appears to be knowledgeable, but there are several errors in his presentation. BTW, I am a MB dealer tech (20 years)!

OM 642,3.0 litres,V6,in Europe we got two modifications the e280 and e320 cdi,and the best thing is that the e280 also came with a stickshift, which is really punchy.And i get around 34 mpg in a combined cycle,maybe because of the manual.

The 2007 and 2008 BlueTEC Mercedes did not have adblue. It’s a 3 litre. Mercedes badged them as BlueTEC but they really were a V6 CDI

Yes but the 07, 08, and 09 models were NOT really BlueTECs. They were really V6 CDI diesels with BlueTEC on the the trunk lid. They did have the diesel particulate filter but NOT adblue. The REAL BlueTEC cars didn’t come to the USA until 2010. I should know, I have an 08. I know it from nose to exhaust tip!

Dr. Fritz Prengel sorry but all diesels sold from 2007-2009 in the USA were labeled as BlueTECs but were really CDI. NONE of the diesels those years were really BlueTECs. Sorry my friend but I really know my stuff on this model!

One guy in UK once said it is better to buy Mercedes this generation E Class or M class with the 3liter V6 since the diesel is more reliable than the 3.5 petrol if looking for a second hand. I personally love this cars performance in the crash tests.

I've got an E 270cdi 5 cylinder(no ad blue). This car of mine is bullet proof and not to many extra things like air ride heated seats etc etc. All these things eventually go wrong so less is more.

I got the same engine in mu CLS 320 CDI a straight forward diesel that goes like stink! We are demonised in England by the government who, after years of encouraging us to buy them for environmental reason, now blame us for all the pollution and tax us by ramping up fuel and road tax rates - disgusting! Great engine though - huge straight line speed from the get go!

Did MB forget to pay off the pols in California. You could not buy new MB diesels there while I still lived there but you could buy domestic diesel pickups that smoked like hell. My 85 300d did not smoke hardly at all clear up to 280k miles. Rather have it now than my 2001 e320 gas hog.

for US market EU cars almoust always had that non indicating numbers on trunk because cars in US must be organized by class, so W124 would be 300 class (E petrol, D diesel) W201 is 190E/D, and when they turned on E C S etc class numering, then number became something like a mix of power and displacement, so u can have W211 280cdi and 320cdi, same 3 liter engine but difrent power, only engines wich were used in only one shape and form have corect nummering, like E270cdi, lets get back to begining, old cars in eu had corect engine numering besides 190 wich on one side of the trunk had "class" designation (190E/D) and on other side it had engine displacement like in US, in US u can see a lot of 300D 2.5 while in eu it would just be 250D, I hope u understand

I broke the timing chain at 110,000 the air suspension sucks and sensors are problematic. There are all kinds of Mercedes horror stories on KZbin. Have you ever thought about that maybe the car doesn´t suck, but your driving skills do and that´s why you manage to break it so easily?
