@N1ckZ Sorry for making this joke, Yes I´ve seen them. perhaps they are hoping to experience the same jump of appreciation as in 1962. But I was a bit disappointed, cause I had hoped they might follow the design line of the BMW850csi (from Klaus Kapitza 1984) or M1 (Georgio Giugiaro 1978). Well I see, they were aiming with the sedan a bit in the direction of the 3,0CSL and I like this. a more "glasy" cabin and the front is much better than all this massiv beaver grills we have seen

I really like how Renault approaches controls behind the steering wheel. It may seem like an overload but it allows to control pretty much everything without taking your hands off the steering wheel while driving. Glad to see it on EV’s as well
Renault has simply been brilliant in the design of their entire EV line. Yes I would have liked them to be RWD, have a frunk, have a bit better efficiency, charge a little faster and for the scenic some more size. But the 4 and 5 really looks the part and could make Renault the leading European car brand. Thanks for the video.. in full length 😂😂

Efficiency is probably mostly down to the aerodynamics which is never great for short boxy cars
@hgh425Күн бұрын
@@ElmarBon correct. Above ~70km/h most of the energy is used to move the air. But a less efficient motor, frq drive, Gear or whatever have a higher loss at a higher output. And the different motors have different ranges where they are most efficient.

I'm very pleased that Renault has gone down this route, the 4 & 5 both look like excellent options. The fact that this has that bit more space and still retains that quirky look means it will sell really well. I might even consider replacing my Jazz Hybrid (for city-trips) with this and finally get an EV now they're getting more affordable. And honestly, I never ever thought Renault would tempt me after all the drab models they released down the years since the last Renault 5.

I think the most interesting and exciting EV's currently are the new £20K+ bracket! The Panda looks amazing and the inteiror is so modern and has so many cool design touches, the Inster has a superb jnterior and funky design, the R5 looks so chic and the R4 is a funky looking urban family SUV. Both bave really nice interiors. I think brands have realised they really need to stand out design wise but more so the interiors! The Panda, Inster and R4 & R5 all have inteirors that look more interesting and expensive than anything in this price bracket, ICE included, ever has!

I like it. with the 5 and now the R4 Renault is really drawing a new line for what an electric car can be. We just bought a new ICE car last year, but if we will need a second family car in the coming couple of years the 5 is top of the list (although the Alpine version is really close second). Top speed figures are realistic keeping in mind that germany is an outlier and in the rest of the continent maximum allowed speed is between 110 and 130. And for the autonomy figures, with fast charging in my opinion is not bad if you get 2-3 hours of driving and then half an hour break on long trips. If we had the possibility of charging at home (which I think is the main advantage and drawback of an EV) or at the office, we would have gone directly for an EV instead of an ICE.
@bertsteenbergen67297 күн бұрын
In the past the R4 and R5 had top speeds around 130 kmh, these cars were also sold in Germany so I do not see the top speed as a limitation, just accept it and drive at lower speeds with these kind of cars. I do like the R4 and R5 new style, but they are a bit expensive, as far as I am concerned they could make an even further stripped down version where the interior looks closer to the base versions of the past. These cars are menat to be the entry level so you can also equip them like that in their base configurations.

A car with 250-400km range isn't a city car. You don't drive 250km in a city, unless you're a taxi driver. It's an urban/regional vehicle that can do most or all daily drives. Rent a vehicle for holidays. Most younger people go on holiday by plane anyway.
