This is a Mount Rushmore 80s rocker for me. Tons of shredding solos from those days but only the really great ones are interesting as well as cool with fast runs and this one qualifies. You knew Hot Tub Time Machine was going to kick some ass when the movie started with this song cranked. Also got to give Autograph some credit for one of the funniest song titles ever with their tune "My girlfriend's boyfriend isn't me"
@permission2rock4944 жыл бұрын
Your learning method of separating the sections made this solo a million times easier to absorb compared to reading straight tab. Thank you brilliant lesson. Can’t stand phil Collins but love the easy lover solo. Which isn’t technically too challenging but the main run up and down would benefit your sectioned teaching expertise for me.
@martykirkpatrick63474 жыл бұрын
I came back to say that the descending lick separation as shown is genius teaching methods man..I found that the distraction happening to me was the brackets for the 4 note breakdown tends to make me mistake the strings because of the high placement..haha..always bitchin, hungh? I keep mistaking the top of the bracket for the high E, so I am leaning toward blaming that for my complete failure at mastering this..lol..kidding aside, awesome lesson,! Have you looked into a teaching career at Beethoven's school for challenged musicians?

I like Karl Brown and a few other guys but you are definitely now one of my favorites. I love the way you dissect each little note but you do it very clear and concise even when you say "don't forget the slide" as I wouldn't have forgot but I like to see you mention things like that. It's just the perfect pace for me and it's like you know what we're thinking and you address it because you are anticipating where we might be thinking certain things. That's definitely the mark of a great teacher.
@diverdown19824 жыл бұрын
Carl Brown from 365lessons? That dude often has really weak phrasing. It's almost like he just reads the tabs one time and plays the notes with no feeling. That's just my opinion I guess.

Thank you for the video. It's just happens that me, a pretty beginner, have been practising this solo for a while. I still can't play it as good as I wish I could. And it's true that it's kind of out of tune for regular tuning. It has always bothered me. I had to tune it down in Logic Pro. And there's no backing track available to play along to. You have a really good backing track. We want you share! :-) And btw I'm still working on that Bark at the moon solo you shared. I am pretty soon there to set that last alternate picking part. I will share it with you when I'm done. Thank you for your videos and your effort.
