Not just mental disorder, but depravity and perversion. Let's not cover all bad moral choices under the excuse of 'mental issues'. And of course, mental health is an important aspect to look at and should be addressed. But it's *not the only one.* I see that so often nowadays all moral choice and agency are excused away as determined by mental states. But it's a wrong anthropology of a human person, taking away our dignity as moral and rational beings, not just automatically moved by instincts and drives. And let's not excuse the moral responsibilities.
@JB.zero.zero.12 ай бұрын
@@joane24 How do you know its a choice? Robert Sapolsky would argue against your moralizing here.
@joane242 ай бұрын
@@JB.zero.zero.1 Because we are by our nature rational beings with agency and moral disposition. There's a also set of behaviors that one has to decide to perform. For example, dressing up in the morning is a choice (or you could go out in your pyjamas - less appropriate but perhaps tolerable - or naked - which, well, would probably get you arrested, so most people do make an effort to put some clothes on, so it's a rational decision) and is followed by a set of conscious actions of putting the clothes on, and it's also a choice of selecting what to wear. If you're, additionally on top of that, are making a choice to wear something's culturally associated with the opposite sex, then it requires even stronger decision-making, because you're going against the norm. It's not moralizing, it's facts about the nature of a human person. PS. I'm not familiar in detail with Sapolsky's view, other that my understanding is that his view is purely deterministic. Which I believe is wrong and not a correct view of human anthropology.
@slayra2 ай бұрын
@@joane24 rational beings with morals... right. It may be a choice to dress with clothes associated with the other gender (the first problem here is that it's not acceptable for men to wear skirts or make up. It should be) or it may be a compulsion. If it's a choice these people aren't harming anyone. If it's the latter, they need treatment. If it's other stuff like wanting to breastfeed then it's always a problem as there is definitely something biologically wrong with their brain chemistry. Even if it is social contagion. People aren't born with morals. They are taught morals. As such, people with these behaviours need medical help. Morals don't enter this equation

Transgender is being born 1 of 2 genders, having a mental illness gender dysphoria so you transition to help elevate the out of place or uncomfortable feeling of being the gender at birth. I always have to watch for straight men who want me to feminize them for their fetish and kink. Someone who truly experiences gender dysphoria doesn't want to draw attention, goal is to transition were one can blend in. Basically it's saying it's all fine and ok if you're in the mud like a pig as long as the mud isn't touching my yard. Instead of actually helping our proverbial neighbor and actually caring for them, we allow them to *degenerate* all in the name of what exactly? Is that 'freedom'? That 'anything goes'? True freedom is _being able to do the right thing._ And that's what we should aim in the education and formation, and in addressing social ills. Same could be said about addiction problem. It's _not_ loving to let a junkie slowly destroy themselves with substances, same with paraphilias and other morally degenerate behavior. Instead of addressing the problem, people are allowed to waste their precious lives in *self-downgrading* behaviors. AND it's also not true that it doesn't touch on others, because even individual behaviors and _vices_ that 'don't hurt anyone else' they _do_ have a social impact. We're not lone islands.

I am so sick and tired of gender non conformity or cross dressing (with no intent of passing as another sex) being conflated with this theory that is throwing not only those thinking they are another sex, but also those that are just raising a middle finger to strict gender norms that have people assume other people's sexual orientation, or trans status based on social cues that honestly should not be as rigid as they are. I have been gender non conforming (androgynous) since the age of 5. I never thought I was another sex (until constantly being told things I liked to do "normal boys" didn't like to do, or being told "boys don't wear **state item here*), nor have I been interested in other boys or later in life men. I never identify as a woman even when looking like a flat chested one. Yet I consistently see people make these assumptions that only support stereotypes (and the trans movement has been really bad of late reinforcing sexist gender norms leading to regression). NOW, we have Blanchard's theory (read that again, theory) being pulled out of clinical settings, (which he himself has stated was never the intent, nor in fact for the term to be used as a slur or "gotcha") and being applied to any MALE that dares try on a skirt, or choose "feminine" styles as his own. It isn't helped by persons like Eddie Izzard claiming to be trans, along with a bunch of other men. Maybe, just maybe we would not have as much issue with this were it not for the ridiculing, bullying, limiting, of kids (usually boys) when it comes to outward expression. Cause my theory is, the Stigma leads to the shaming, leads to taboo, the taboo leads to fetish, and the fetish leads to....well, look around.

Years ago when attending a small 'trans/minority' meet in Paris I met quite a few different variations on this theme. I myself am trans, knew forever and also know it is a mental condition, not physical. There were some really strange people there, truckers in frocks, teens and butch women. I stood at the back, not comfortable in situations when being grouped into one. I listened as a trans woman doctor talked about how 'she' castrated herself in her kitchen before calling the ambulance. Back then the law forbade castrating a 'healthy male' but if the testes were absent or damaged then 'corrective' surgery was proposed. How times have changed. Also at the back of the room was a tall very handsome man in a suite and overcoat, shy and balding and needing to talk. I invited him out to the corridor and asked him why he was there and he told me his story. He was successful and fairly wealthy and was married with two kids and lived in a huge very expensive home. He also had an apartment in town stocked full of frilly dresses, wigs, jewelry and make up and everytime he could he went there and 'dressed up' and played 'woman' ! This was a new slant for me as he didn't fit either the trans or gay section but I had heard of cross dressing as it is mostly known. His goal as he talked was to dress up as a woman with his wife and make love to her as a woman ! I told him that this could not happen and he would lose everything he had including his reputation. He was so driven that I could see him overriding my objections at every turn. I have no idea if he ever went through with it as that one short night showed me that I had no place in those groups of sad, lonely frightened people. I transitioned in 1994, quietly, going into hospital alone, coming out and getting on with my life. No one knows and I also didn't need hormones or facial feminisation of implants. I am me.

They never really transition like 99% of the time. They just want women spaces and a narcissistic form of dominance over them.
@Inga_Ka2 ай бұрын
@@DjangoAV Exactly, they invade women's spaces and sports. Many of them join female's only gyms and only want to compete against women and dominate them. And that's not ok.

This is the research that needs to be done so that kids and adults are protected and given the most accurate information about their decisions. Nobody here wants to inhibit people but we’ve all seen how many people have come out and claimed they completely regret transition and many of them are FTM. Because MTF generally aren’t very real about it and don’t go all the way most of the time
@CyrilCommando2 ай бұрын
No it's not that they aren't real about it it's just that there's less reason to detransition from female to male. Like, what are we losing if we transition to female? Nothing. Lol. We might just look nicer because men are ugly.

Who are these mythical AGPs who dont intrude into women only spaces? 🙄
@sparagmos47482 ай бұрын
You're not going to see them. I know a group of fetishistic cross dressers and AGPs who use a space where I work. They have always been perfectly civil and have never been creepy. I don't know how they behave beyond the private space, but the lack of creepiness (and I'm pretty sensitive to creepy men as a result of a lot of harassment when I was younger) indicates that they are not interested in causing distress to women around them. I think they look ridiculous and I certainly don't think that they belong in women's space, but FCDs and AGPs are not all predators.

@alejandrodovale7435Ай бұрын
It's concerning to see how autogynephilia and gender self-perception are becoming such influential topics today, especially through the internet and the desire for attention. This is deeply affecting homosexuals, who fought for years to have homosexuality no longer seen as a mental illness. Now, with this new movement, it feels like we're seeing a huge setback in that important achievement. It's as if all the effort to de-pathologize homosexuality is being questioned again by this trend.

I think he is right that it's nearly always autogynephiles; those that lived as heterosexual males for years, are the ones trying to enter women's sports and not the feminine, effeminate homosexual trans-sexuals. The autogynephiles are pushy and aggressive. I've known several like that. One, if you told 'her' something s/he didn't like you were in for a lecture and a few insults as well. S/he was an arrogant a-hole. I'm sure s/he was like that as a man too. Some things never change.

As someone who has been involved in the gay/queer community and fetish community for almost 30 years I can say that this definitely fits the majority of trans women I've met. 20 years ago, most that you used to meet in the gay villages/community would be HSTS type. Most that you met at fetish events would be AGP. But in recent years when it became the trend to get rid of "gatekeeping" the AGPs are all excited to be accepted into the queer community now that they're all pretending it doesn't come from straight men with a paraphilia that has taken over. Now they get to explore their fetish in public and use it for attention and to get positions in queer societies, all the better to validate their fantasy.

Thankyou I'm transgender and I've been saying this for ages. There are way too many ppl that are not transgender that are calling themselves transgender. It's not right. It's actually one of the reasons I decided to stop my transition. 😢 These ppl are making it harder for ppl like myself who are truly transgender. Then add these other 2 things like non binary or gender fluid. Like seriously. I just wanted to be able to be myself and try to blend in as much as I could. I hate attention and it was always a big reason for me not transitioning. And the other reason was because I was to old to be able to pass fully as a woman so I put it off and put it off. Then my now ex girlfriend talked me into it. The whole thing is fucked from these ppl entering sports events and giving us all a bad name. 😢

Thank you very much for the comprehensive explanation. I'm from a small town in the north of Germany and work for the tax goverment. Our occupational physician is a big burly chap who transitioned to be a woman many years ago. He was married with kids (he's now in his 60s). He looks like a very tall guy with a wig, big breasts and make up. He remarried a woman a couple years ago. I suspect it's a case of AGP. Of course we refer to him as a she.

And no, sadly that's not hyperbolic. The partys who brought us the Sgbb have lost my trust forever. If someone is able to lie and gaslight about such a fundamental thing, how can I believe that they're truthful about anything else?

Most definitely,I noticed that a lot of tifs (trans identified females) became tifs because they rlly like yaoi and bl (which is Japanese gay male romance content) and they say they have fantasies about being a gay man having s*ggs with other men similar to how AGPs want to become women so that they can live their fantasy of being a lesbian. I would say that agp tends to be way more common.

You have NO IDEA how great these short videos are for spreading information! People don't want to watch hour long videos! But unfortunately, it would be more beneficial if the trans influencers did the same because usually, people are less likely to want to listen to a straight "cis" white man say all of this even if it's undoubtedly true

I can wear a skimpy dress to a club and people just look the other way. I can wear five inch heels and, while I might get lots of attention, it won't be sexual attention. I want to be sexually objectified and it never happens."
