I am not a fan of Subaru anymore. I bought a new Outback in 2000 and had trouble putting the car in reverse. The Subaru dealership in Atlanta would not honor a free repair even though the car was under warranty. So I traded it in for another Toyota.

A lot has changed in 24 years. Just purchased a 2023 new Ascent as a family hauler, and a new 2024 Forester as a daily runner. No problems whatsoever.

I spent a couple months doing the oresearch and found Subaru quality are improved these years, Toyota on the other hand is going down slowly in quality (ex: 2024 new Tacoma). I'm a longtime Toyota fans and is moving to Subaru fans. Toyota is also hard to do the negotiating in price too. My 2017 Highlander platinum will be the last Toyota in family. My recent Honda minivan was totaled so I just bought the 2024 Outback touring for myself and couldn't be happier (Have a good deal too) My wife wants to trade in her 17 Highlander for an Accent touring next year... Well will see! We also just bought the used 2020 Forester touring 53K mi for my son (his 1st car!) so he can go to UofH. What we love on Toyota is MPG, what we love on Subaru are those safety system.
