Recently, eBay has instituted a change to their feedback system in the UK where buyers who have not left feedback in 7 days from delivery for ONLY those sellers who have 10 feedback or less. The feedback left is very basic stating "the seller successfully completed the order." eBay tends to pick a limited test group when they are considering changes, in this case newer UK sellers. Now, with this program, a buyer can still go in and update their feedback up to 60 days after delivery. What do you think about this? Should something like this expand to all sellers? What are some changes you would make to the feedback system?

I know eBay's media team is watching your videos, I hope they read this.---- I think they should get rid of the WHOLE feedback system at this point, just scrap it all. Make it into only the star ratings. Bad sellers will get low star ratings, and buyers can report them. You can update the design with the stars and make it look cleaner and stylish. Currently the feedback system has turned into a NIGHTMARE where every sale puts the seller into a hostage situation, and if you get a negative feedback - its another absolutely disgusting nightmare to get it removed. Yes, "a NIGHTMARE" is a good word to sum up the feedback system in 2024. Dear eBay, think well, if you want to keep it at least make new rules or something to make it more equal - because if every sale made on your platform makes your sellers feel like hostages, then something is wrong. One thing if you want to keep the system (even though I want you to just scrap it and just use the star ratings) - is that if a buyer choses to leave a negative feedback - it wont be shown on the sellers account directly. First it should be sent to eBay like a case, then the seller should be given a chance to explain their side of the story (if it is wrong/abusive, some feedbacks are of course valid) - and then eBay should decide if its right or not to publish the negative feedback. Other platforms have this kind of system, I think Mercari has and it stops many abusive feedbacks from being published. //// Also another thing eBay can do soon, today, is to decide to DELETE ALL negative/neutral feedback that are given to sellers when the seller did the right thing - for example accepting a return and paying for the labels (I personally had a remorse return last month, paid for the everything and still got a negative that eBay wont remove...ugh...) - again, buyers should not be able to punish sellers who do the right thing. Dear eBay, fix it asap, your feedback system is not working like it should anymore, its outdated and has become a nightmare for your sellers to deal with. Please.

I disagree. The comments help to make a decision to buy. If a seller does well I like to see what they did well, and if they did wrong I want to see why. Sometimes I'll buy from a seller with negative feedback depending on what was said. Those comments help a lot and just leaving stars just wouldn't be fair. People could leave 1 or 2 stars for something the seller had no control over

@@hustle-n-grow Ok then keep it, but only let people leave positive feedbacks for sellers, just like it is for buyers. Make things equal. If a seller does something bad, report the seller. Make it so that if you push to leave a negative feedback to a seller, send the buyer to a report form. eBay can put some people who only work with handling "bad seller reports". Sellers who do bad things and eBay can see it get banned/limited at lightning speed, unlike how it is for buyers who get reported. Buyers can outright scam, like commit real crimes and just be super abusive in general in front of ebay's eyes - and sill be able to use the site... for months, for years, forever.. Well, another thing is like I mentioned, when the buyer choses to leave a negative - it should turn it into a "case" where the seller is given a chance to tell their opinion as well and then eBay reviews it wether it should be published or not. If they did this, I swear a big chunk of all negs given today, would not happen. Some might argue that it would add extra work to eBay? Sure but I think all work eBay has to put into dealing with sellers trying to get unfair BS feedback removed is much bigger... Something has to be done to the FB system - its outdated, broken and unfair.

eBay is trying to be all things to all people, and this is a good example. A seller selling vintage used merchandise, is a much different animal than the seller who deals only in new merchandise that is high turnover. I have said before that eBay should make a split between these two vastly different worlds. And obviously it would have a big impact on feedback. IMO, a seller in the used vintage market should be more responsive and held to a higher item description standard. But they would not have to "warrant" the item, or have forced auto-returns.

I see generic feedback and the same feedback for multiple different sellers on peoples pages all the time. Mostly see it on bad sellers though. And I find it very hard to believe that ebay let's bad sellers sell on ebay even after they are reported. Just like the feedback system is WORTHLESS - Ebay just doesn't care.

Reasonable shipping cost should not even be an option as buyers see cost upfront and decided to still make the purchase. As the feedback system is, it would be a little more fair if they gave the seller a positive for those buyers who choose to not participate. Sell 2000 items a year and get 500 feedback. 1 negative looks way worse % wise weighing against 500 rather then comparing it the 2k you sold

It should be automatic after a period of time. Too many buyers don’t leave feedback. I have auto feedback after buyer leaves a positive feedback .

I agree, I sell about 30 items a month, and only get about 6 positives.

I don't think you can voluntarily delete a sold listing, as its a record of the transaction.

I think the feedback sounds fake and most people can spot fake. So while I think it's a nice thought out in the world I think it could actually backfire. Also I think they should fix their current feedback disasters that they're letting AI handle. The same crappy AI is going to leave the feedback and it's just kinda dumb. I think we should call it artificial stupidity. Lastly emotional responses are not healthy anywhere in life don't let your deceiving emotions control any part of your life. Give it all to God ❤
