Had a lot of fun with this build but the end result is very unfinished especially in terms of lots of inefficient and unneeded gates, the magnet controls being the most obvious and easy to fix e.g by using NAND or NOR gates depending on how I wish to go with it. Next video when I have proper time to record all that will be fixed so don't worry I am aware of the odd choices I made in this rush video! Hope you all enjoy either way! :)

YES! ahahahahah YES! Edit: URK- why not make a addon to the Resources? So the resources detach, and create the 'Go Home' Drone? So you skip the whole micromanaging of that drone? Then once it reaches the location, it blows up the factory to avoid replication issues, or a splitter of some kind.

You could use an NOR-Gate on both outputs of the Core Sensor, which would only activate when the Sensor is exactly over the Core

Actually, he needs to use a NAND-Gate(correction NOR-Gate) (only activate when both is inactive), so if it is neither going left nor right, it means that he is above it. Thus, deactivate the magnet if both outputs are inactive.

A novel little idea to add to the idea pool, which I have not noted to be present already; Replace the singular omni-resource hat with three(?) separate factories, each producing a double resource tank with a collector, but specific to a singular resource type. This would allow for more efficient usage of produced parts as well as allowing for the chute idea.

man, ive been loving this game since i got it a few days ago. i love working out the logic for complex mechanisms (my latest being autonomous turrets) for instance @ 7:05, i think that would be something along the lines of: "if NOT(not gate) tilted left AND/OR (or gate) tilted right (directional sensor) then turn the MAGNET on (via a logic connector.)" ...ITS JUST SO FUN AND EDUCATIONAL!

You mention that most of your designs haven't been the most efficient way of doing things, but the most fun way. I totally agree, but what you didn't mention is that they're all made to reduce the grind. Have it be destroying hives, killing the hammerheads, collecting resources etc, it becomes very tedious after a while. If you are able to make something that does a job automatically, it doesn't matter how slow it is. It means you can do other things in the meantime and essentially means you've 'won' some time out of your day back. This is ultimately what makes games fun for me, it's what I seek. Minecraft, Factorio, Nimbatus, Avorion all have this element in common.

Always a treat to see another nimbatus video, thanks for existing. Really dumb idea here, but what if you made a drone that shoots its core at the enemies and then rebuilt itself while hurtling towards them. It sounds pretty complicated but i think you'd be able to do it.

Laser attraction + -100% damage = harmless lasers you can use as tractor beams. Combine those with a high distance upgrade and taking bio-barrels is a breeze

To know when you are above the core you can use an inverted directional sensor with the tolerance at it's max value, so only when above the outputs are active(doesn't matter which output of the tolerance is slim enough)

lathrix, if you keep the rocket at the same settings you had before except aim at the center of your craft instead of over in the corner of your screen it will create a "ball of death", which i believe is what you want. what is causing you problems with it is the rockets are getting to max speed from them traveling to your mouse which makes them need to speed down before they can turn around.

"When am I above the core" sensor... increase the left/right gap a little(Actually, 10 is probably fine), and use a NOR gate of left or right, so if neither are activated, the output comes on. when that comes on, turn off the magnet. Do no damage can also be used for a Digging laser, I guess?

Quite nice, i made one that was kind of a combination of this and the previous one, sadly i was an idiot and the sensors are under a logic splitter, so i had to use a temperature sensor and heater to interact with it.

How about a modular drone; there would be a main satelite with different "suits" (which are armour, tools ect) on factorys which can be attached with a magnet to a tiny drone. Like so lathrix can see!

Great video as always, thank you... I have a question and a suggestion. Q: How to you assign "Alpha" keys? Sug: There is a drone in the Workshop that I tested out, basically you have a core with a bunch of mineral storage attached that sits in the Nimbatus collector, then a drone you detach and control manually that only collects, without any storage boxes on it. I have no idea how the minerals transfer from the drone to the storage boxes when they are detached from each other, but it works. Maybe you'd like to investigate the schematic and design a drone of your own off that idea. In the Workshop it's called "Mining Fortress(Battle) - IGP"

If you mean "Alpha keys" as in the keys he assigns to some things labeled "Alpha1" etc. thats just the numbers for instance if you assign a key to your 1 key it will say Alpha1

Nah, it's possible for keyboard to have beta set, but I don't think they will be recognized. Most probably, they will act as second alphas. So, Alpha for prime board and Num for numeric board.

I think if you increase the tolerance on the altitude sensor it should keep it from bouncing all the time

For the magnet you could also turn it off if the sensor doesn't say that the core is to the left or the right but is instead is in the tolerance of the sensor. (Use a or gate with both outputs of the sensor as it's inputs and it's output powers the magnet) this would only need three Blocks.

Ok a few changes to your combat sattelite. Make it use grenade launcher instead of missiles if you want linear bombing. It's a good excuse to use them. Then make the flamers gravity, bouncy and diggers. So it looks like you're actually melting the world with them, just like what you did last season. After that, you remember those explodey things that created land? Since now you have bio, can you grow the resources with bio weapons? If you can make a drone which is just shooting bio weapon at resources and once it gets filled it uses factory to create more resource tanks. It's an idle farmer that you make it follow mouse and a switch that makes it stop following and start shooting the bio wep while activating harvesters. You just take a coffee break or smthn and come back, use magnetic sattelite to pick up all the ejected filled ranks Edit: also, use tags I thought of a problem you might incur. How to manage ejection: When container is full. It will send a signal to factory to decouple, it will also send a signal to a timer that will print new containers. Make the storage on the side of the drone, not top. Angle the harvesters on the bottom most resource containers.

What if you made a resource drone that collected resource, then circled around the world with a short sensor on the side it's moving that makes it go up then add flamethrower that have digging upgrade so when it finds the cargo ship under the main ship and since the cargo ship us invincible the drones short range sensors will activate and make it go up and it will drop off the resource.

Put the core sensor to two "not" gates which sends signal to an "and" gate which detects if the drone is overhead then the gate sends to another "and" gate that detects if its overhead and you told the drone to go there, if the second "and" gate is on it must send a signal to a "not" gate to disable the magnet (this just an opinion, you do you)

If you're feeling like you're using too many gates you could try and learn Karnaugh Mapping. It's a bit of a stretch since you're doing just fine.
