Automatic Transmission Vehicle Speed Sensor Location and Replacement

2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS 2.4l Automatic Transmission Speed Sensor. This video is for assistance locating and changing all of your vehicle speed sensors. The 3rd speed sensor I poorly showed, is the sensor with a geared end. BE CAREFUL with this gear and do not drop, damage, or let anything get on the gear while swapping the sensor. Hopefully its not your transmission that needs replacing! Best of luck!

Just so you know that first sensor you took out was a camshaft sensor I found this out when I replaced my output sensor and had a code go off and my car having problems starting after replacing that one with my output the lower one that you can't see in your video is the actual output and the one underneath the battery is input FYI

I can't seem to find any video of where my speed sensor location would be at .. I own a 2019 Chevy Malibu Lt .. any helps or advices would be nice 👍

Hi, wonder if you could help. I'm looking at a mitsubishi shogun 2002, was told by the guy that "It drives fine in manual mode as semi auto but gets gear jumpy in full auto mode. Took it to local garage and they said it was only an input shaft sensor" I have looked everywhere and can't find an input shaft sensor, any ideas please thanks .

I am sorry for late response but I would replace all of the sensors, I bought the first 2 at a Joe Blow auto shop and they were both wrong. Bought offline, both wrong. Bought off wholesalers site the parts were fine and even cheaper lol

what was the issue of the vehicle? I have a 2003 eclipse engine runs, transmission shifting but car wont move. changed oil and solenoids but no luck! i am getting frustrated! LOL

Very frustrating and demoralizing, mine had the same issue but wouldn't start at all or would overheat within seconds if it started

I have a 2003 Eclipse GTS Spyder, 3.0 Auto, are both sensors in the same spot as the 2.4?

Sorry if this is too late but no they are not. Depending on the vehicle they will do different things. The output is what works with your speedometer if that ever stops working.

@@mysteriouslymysteriousmyst9139 Yes, you're right. That output and input shaft speed senors are on the transmission. Look at the manual.
