I am thinking that, perhaps, when the image does not contain predominantly architectural elements, the Guided button might work best to straighten poles and buildings in the image?

Hi Jesus! Thank you for your excellent video tutorial, as always. In tall buildings, using the Automatic correction or the guide lines to make vertical lines parallel to each other, makes the building looks like the top was broader than the base and the windows larger. Using the manual vertical correction also affects negatively the light poles. How to correct this distortion? Thank you!

Super useful video! PS is intimidating but with this video I was easily able to straighten the lines in a picture of an interior wall. Seriously, I would have never figured out how to do this on my own so you are a lifesaver and I am now a subscriber. Yeah, I'm photoshopping a picture of a wall. I needed the corners and a doorway square so I could import the picture into a vector drawing app because, well, I'm making a vertical playground for my cats and want to lay everything out before I start drilling. Also, Oakland! I grew up in the East Bay and am always happy when I run into my old home at random times :D

I appreciate the video. Can you please explain how to manipulate individual exposures (over-exposed, under-exposed, correct exposure) when doing HDR in PhotoShop? I am used to PhotoMatix where control is easy, but I need to know how to do it in PhotoShop and I'm still relatively new to PhotoShop. Sincerely hoping for a reply.

wow THANK YOU!!! this is exactly what I wanted! Why do they HIDE this functionality under the Camera Raw Filter??? this is one of the most powerful functions in PhotoShop, and it should be in the lens correction or "fix perspective" or something more easy to figure out where it is. Now that I know, I won't forget, but even though I do shoot and use RAW, I've never bothered to use these features in there ever. Wow, I had no idea it'd work on a NON-RAW photo, or that these were in there! You're amazing dude!

How do I correct distortion introduced by a snapshot of a family portrait lying on a table? My aim is to be able to simulate looking at the photo being duplicated from above it however, I need to do more than square up the photo by compensating for the increasing loss of width of the photo as it recedes from my lens - I also need to increasingly compensate for the loss of height that progressively intensifies as the photo being duplicated recedes from the lens of my camera, thus preserving the height of the faces in the photo being reproduced so that they don't look as if they are being distorted through vertical logarithmic compression. Clearly there is an algorithm that will account for and adjust for this & I am looking for an app or tool that will properly accommodate the adjustments needed for this unique challenge. It certainly is a commonly needed tool considering the frequency from which people nowadays hastily reproduce old photos for sharing.

Thank you very much for the time you spend to provide us with outstanding tutorials! Quick question regarding AUTOMATICALLY Fix Perspective Distortions in Photoshop - Automatic Upright in Camera RAW I realize this is dated information with regard to all of the Adobe PS updates since this was posted, but I would like some guidance regarding the toolbar shown in this tutorial where you select transform in the Camera Raw Filter window. I am now in PS Ver. 22.5.1 and searching for an up-to-date tutorial to fix alk of the distortion types when using a wide angel lens and even angling the cameral/lens up or down.

I think I prefer LR Transform. Camera Raw has no Constrain Crop so you have to crop the image manually if necessary. Or am I missing something?
@PhotoshopTrainingChannel
@PhotoshopTrainingChannel 6 жыл бұрын
The Constrain Crop is in Photoshop not in the Camera RAW filter. So make all your adjustments in Camera RAW, then crop and export in Photoshop. If you open a raw file in Camera RAW then you can hold down the Crop tool icon to reveal the different Crop constraints.
@MarkLeckington1965
@MarkLeckington1965 6 жыл бұрын
Actually... I've been able to crop in RAW. After clicking the Crop Tool in RAW, I just right click to tell it what type of Crop I wanted... 3x2 16x9 original ratio... or you can make your own...
@Fotoadsza
@Fotoadsza 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your helpful comment. That's perfectly correct. However, what I was referring to is that there is no CONSTRAIN crop in Camera Raw filter as you have in the LR Transform tab. When you check the "constrain crop" box, it automatically constrains the crop created when you straighten an image. Refer to Jesus' reply above on how to overcome this. I think it might be the same thing that you are referring to? Anyway, I'll give it a go sometime! Thanks again :)
