Automatically Remove SILENCE in Your Videos (DaVinci Resolve Studio)

Ill be honest, saying "its not perfect" has been is a very big understatement, at least in my experience. I'm used to the silence detection from Filmora Wondershare, where you can select how big a gap has to be to be counted as silence, how many milliseconds you want it to keep when it cuts (in other words, how close the cut will be to noise) and it works very well. Davinci Resolve Silence Detection however is so bad that it takes more work time to fix all the mess ups than it would for me to just cut the video. Almost every cut it makes for me is in the middle of a word or even entire sentence - and it gets worse when it's something stretched out like laughter and it just cuts parts of it out. That one is a bit more understandable to me - though I still think it should just be based on actual silence and allow you to choose a noise level - and not whatever mess is going on right now

Weird, under Audio Transcription, I don't have a setting for speaker detection. This file I have was recorded using OBS and although I have all my audio tracks, after transcribing, its empty so not working for me.

Is it possible to add captions with the studio version? Like capcut styled captions? With timings etc without much work?

Hmmm, the long answer short is not really. Capcut comes with a lot of prebuilt text styles and animations, so if you wanted something similar, you'd need to build out those kind of animations yourself or find some one who's built them for you. But yes, you can do captioning and convert them to Text+ nodes. Check out Snap Captions, it'll probably be the closest alternative to what you want right now

You should be able to search and highlight individual words, yes. How well it works, I'm not sure :/
