It's actually really wild to watch. I work as a longshoreman cleaning bulk carrier cargo holds in the Bay area. And they just started implementing robots that wash these holds without us

I agree with the strike. But throughout history innovations have threatened jobs, in return, those innovations ended up creating more jobs. Blue collar workers can always adapt just like any other occupation. For example repairing, and replacing machinery could compensate for the outdated jobs. Keep up the great work!

“Oh, I thought you were trying to build a canal. If it's jobs you want, then you should give these workers spoons, not shovels." Milton Friedman [Reply to the government bureaucrat of one Asian country who told him that, reason why there were workers with shovels instead of modern tractors and earth movers at a worksite of a new canal, was that: "You don't understand. This is a jobs program."]

I hate to say a lot of this has come home to roost. After years of unions wanting inflated wages for doing menial.Nothing jobs in getting top dollar to do it and having all our manufacturing go overseas If wages were kept at a reasonable amount for the time that I've been watching economics since I was a child more than 50 years ago.I've seen the balance of trade rise and then skyrocket Lots of things including regulation have pushed manufacturing overyes but wages especially union wages definitely did their part to accelerate this And as I have posted before having union workers vote democrat and then complaining that they want a wage increase because of cost of living that date themselves absolutely voted for, They voted for the inflation. They voted for the higher cost of living. Everybody else has to deal with this.We don't get to vote For a wage increase when we make a mistake. When you make a mistake , you have to deal with the consequences and other people shouldn't bear The burden of your bad decisions

Remember these companies made a half $1 trillion during the pandemic hundreds of Longshoreman died keeping the cargo coming in and our world running this is about corporate greed not just for Longshoreman but all corporations on all aspects of life when these middle-class wages disappear they’ll only be two classes of people They have and they have not think about the profits that the CEOs make with these companies I find it fascinating that people are against the Longshoreman or the United Auto Workers or the ironworkers. Just a reminder what you think is a menial job could be death for a Longshoreman. There’s not one job on the waterfront where someone hasn’t been killed in that position. It’s a very dangerous job regardless of what you think. I respect your opinion we’re all entitled to it but really take a step back and look at what’s happening and who it’s really gonna affect the surrounding communities, these are foreign countries taking American jobs
