I always remember doing a snatch-back in Luton. The car (a taxi) had finally been found in a small cul de sac behind some garages. When we attempted the first snatch the vehicle was gone. As we drove away the vehicle passed us on the way back home. I arrived at the garages on foot to see the driver walking into a house. I used a spare key, sat in the still warm driver's seat, put the car in gear & started up. As I was reversing some small kids started shouting...that's not your car mister!

From the birth of the Model T in 1908 to now, we still haven't managed to prevent vehicle theft in that 112 years. We invented computers, put man in space, have more technology in our pockets than was on the first Apollo Rocket, but we still cant stop someone from stealing a vehicle.

Piece of advice put a decoy tracker in it so they think they found a tracker therefore they won’t need to destroy the whole vehicle

I'd be checking the people that have previously hired that vehicle. The could have cloned the key and fitted their own tracker in it to collect it from wherever it was.

Most likely whoever hired that vehicle and reported it stolen or possibly previous customers who have hired that vehicle are linked to the crime. It’s too tactical, and planned to be a random gut job. Hire companies are no better, they love providing cars as courtesy cars on behalf of insurance companies to motorists, and then when the innocent motorist gives the car back, the hire company reports an allegedly missing parcel shelf or floor mats etc. And then the hire company extravagantly bills the insurance company, because the know the innocent motorist doesn’t pay and won’t care. Enterprise tried it on me, until I showed picture proof and they shut up.

Clearly the tracking unit is well hidden. Good job. I still cannot understand why the manufacturers are not making cars that cannot be started without the key. Seems like they are not really serious about anti theft methods at all.

For theft recovery, high performance systems having radio location helps, and Tracker Network also has this tech, although there systems are not as accurate, and guess you would have checked out suppliers customer service feedback, we do go the extra mile, call us if you need to anytime 👍

The primary reason I don't care for "keyless" designs, its possible to jack them without the actual key. with a key and a non transmitting remote, without any signal a thief is forced to rely on older, less subtle methods. Far more reliable for the common person in my opinion.
